Flights from Liverpool

Liverpool has been the departure point for journeys across the world since the 19th century. Instead of embarking on your next trip by boat, Skyscanner can help you cruise the skies instead. Our search engine is designed to make finding flights as easy as doing your ABCs, and you can narrow down your options in a variety of ways without filters, including by price, time, itinerary, and duration.

If you aren’t married to a certain date of departure, then use our calendar feature that searches across months instead of days. You can often locate cheaper flights this way, as you can determine trends in prices, or spot a great mid-week or last minute bargain.

However, if you know when you want to leave, but are having trouble settling on where you’d like to go, simply type ‘everywhere’ in our destination bar, and we’ll produce a stacked list of every city that you can fly to from Liverpool.

Finding flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL)

The key airport for the city of Liverpool, and named for the iconic band member of the Beatles, the Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL) is a neat hub, located only 13km from the centre of town, and linked by buses, taxis and coaches.

There are a good range of direct destinations on offer from Liverpool, roughly 45, and to cities all over Europe.

You’ll find that Ryanair is the principle carrier operating out of this airport, and most flights are offered through them. You can find other flights through easyJet, Wizz Air, Hahn Air Systems, FlyBE and Blue Air though.

You won’t find many options to fly to cities within the United Kingdom’s mainland, as Liverpool offers excellent train connections to many of the country’s finest towns. You can however explore the delightful cities of Ireland within an hour of flying, among which Cork (ORK) the seaside city of the south, and Dublin (DUB) the nation’s capital offer much in the way of entertainment, cultural attractions, and access to the rolling green meadows, hills and forests of the Emerald Isle. Alternatively, you can also visit Jersey, a Channel Island that boasts much warmer weather all year round due to its southerly position.

Flights of longer duration can have you shopping for the timepieces in Switzerland’s Geneva (GVA), topping up your tan in Lanzarote (ACE), or diving into the atmospheric medina of Marrakesh (RAK) in Morocco.

Any journeys you intend to take out to North America, Asia, the Middle East, or Australasia will have to be undertaken from a larger airport, but luckily, you have a lot of options when it comes to finding a comprehensive international facility. The most convenient hub for travellers from Liverpool is Manchester Airport (MAN), a 45 minute drive away, but offers several direct long-haul destinations to cities in the USA, Canada, India, China, and others.
