Buffalo Niagara Airport

The Buffalo Niagara Airport (BUF) is the main aviation facility for the city of Buffalo, and the spectacular Niagara Falls. Functioning as a gateway to this part of New York since 1926, this airport allows roughly five million passengers to reach 16 destinations directly, with many more options available on connecting routes in larger international hubs, like Washington DC (DCA, IAD), and New York City (LGA, JFK).

This airport isn’t huge, but it is well-serviced for amenities. Passengers will be able to connect to the free WiFi network that runs throughout the airport to stay in contact with friends and family, there is also a post office, and public telephones within the terminal. ATMs are also accessible in this airport, making any financial admin you have easy to arrange before or after you depart.

The food options are pretty good here too, with a restaurant before security and some fast food outlets, coffee bars, pubs, and snack kiosks that you can grab a bite to eat in. For shopping, there are a couple of gift stores, and a newsagent selling reading materials and confectionary.

Other amenities include a hairdresser’s, an information centre, and an executive lounge.

Flights from Buffalo’s airport are mainly operated by Southwest, Delta, American Airlines, United, and JetBlue.

·         There is a bus service (the 204 Express) that will ferry you between the airport and central Buffalo within 30 minutes, for a breezy fare of 2.50USD ($3.30). Though if you are travelling in a group or with your family, you can find convenient private airport transfers online with Skyscanner.

·         Taxis can be taken just outside the terminal buildings, with a journey into Buffalo costing about 25USD ($33), and the further destination of Niagara Falls coming to around 55USD ($72).
