Good for skiing in the winter and in the summer the lifes are open for walkers and outdoor lovers. The town can be a little expensive but there are many restaurants and bars and a good selection of activities to do.

This little ski town at the end of the Mont Blanc tunnel is picture perfect and quaint. A great base for exploring the Italian Alps.

Charming but small pedestrian area. I'd suggest that it is even nicer than Megeve on the French side.

Went on a week-long ski trip with family and friends. Lots of different areas were accessible via short bus ride and/or walk. Check out Pila for skiing in nearby Aosta. There are also some Roman ruins in the town which could make for a good reason to quit skiing early and check out the town. Skied the Vallee Blanche, by aking tram over the mountains into France and sking down. It was a different experience, that one should try at least once. The local sking is quite good as well at Courmayeur. We also tried La Thuile, conditions were poor that day in terms of visibility, so not easy to give fair critique of the mountain. Also, some non-skiers went to nearby Pre St. Didier to the baths for a relaxing day.
