1. Qantas Frequent Flyer
Qantas Frequent Flyer is probably the best known program in Australia, and allows you to earn and redeem points not only with Qantas, but also with an oneworld® Alliance Airline or Airline Partner, such as American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Emirates, among others.
This is a paid program, with a standardjoin fee of $99.50, however there are ways to join for free. Promo codes areoffered fairly regularly through their consumer partnerships, like Deliveroo, Qantas PremierMastercard, and Avis.
How do I redeem my points with QantasFrequent Flyer?
To redeem your points for flights, you onlyneed to follow a few simple steps:
- Log into Qantas.com with yourfrequent flyer number.
- When searching for a flight,you can select Use points or Use money, points, or both.
- Look for the Classic FlightReward symbol for fully-points paid flight.
- Select your flights.

2. Velocity Frequent Flyer
Coming in hot on the heels of Qantas is the Velocity Frequent Flyer Program, which is the official program of Virgin Australia. Like Qantas’ program, you can redeem points for flights, insurance, hotels, and shopping.
There are excellent partner airlines that you can also redeem your points with, such as Virgin Atlantic, Delta, Singapore Airlines and South African Airways, along with many more. As an added bonus, joining this program is free, you only need to sign up to get started.
How do I redeem my points with VelocityFrequent Flyer?
There are over 600 destinations you can flyto with redeemed points. All you need do is follow these steps:
- Log in to your Velocity account
- Choose Redeem Flights, then Book a Flight
- Put in your details, and then use the slider to indicate how many points or you would like to spend.
- Then confirm your booking.
For upgrades, insurance, or purchasing products in the Velocity store, go to the Redeem Velocity Points page.
3. Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
This is the loyalty program for Singapore Airlines and is partnered with Velocity, and you are able to transfer points between these two programs (though your points do lose some value through transferring). It is also partnered with Star Alliance, so you can earn and redeem points on those carriers too, such as Air Canada, Lufthansa, and United.
You can earn points through credit cards orflying with the airline and its partners, which can then be redeemed forflights or upgrades, or spend them in KrisShop.com. This is a free program andeasy to signup to.
How do I redeem my points with SingaporeKrisFlyer?
Redeem your miles in a few easy steps withSingapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer program.
- Log in to your KrisFlyer Account.
- Click on Miles, then the How to Use tab.
- Use the slider to indicate how many points you want to spend.
- Then simply search for the flights you want, and book!
