Ireland is a small nation, and most people explore its landscape in a car, especially as from this hub you cannot fly to other parts of the country. However, you can fly to Ireland’s neighbour, and sister isles of the United Kingdom. Fly to the capital of the beautiful country of Wales, Cardiff (CWL), the Scottish capital of Edinburgh (EDI), and the English one of London (LOND), to get a comprehensive picture of the cultures and personalities found in the UK.

London is also the airport you will want to fly to if you are intending to travel to long-haul destinations. London Heathrow (LHR) and London Gatwick (LGW) in particular offer the most routes abroad, and you can fly to unusual places like Tashkent (TAS) in Uzbekistan, a stop on the Old Silk Road, and filled with heritage attractions, or to staples like New York City (JFK) where you can tread the light fantastic along the bright city streets of the Big Apple.

However, there are lots of direct short-haul destinations available from Cork to international cities, like the romantic city of Paris (CDG), the sunny shores of Tenerife (TCI), and the pretty canals of Amsterdam (AMS).
