 Phuket Airport

The Phuket International Airport services flights into the popular and beautiful Thai island of Phuket. HKT itself is 32km north of the main town on the island, Phuket City. This is one of Thailand’s busiest airports, and though HKT has only one main terminal, the facilities are pretty good.

Passengers will have access to cash machines, currency exchange and medical services, and free wireless internet. There are information counters too, if you are wanting to get your bearings on the attractions and sites of the island before heading into town.

In the way of restaurants, you will find two traditional Thai restaurants and the Bill Bently Pub where you can enjoy a pint before you fly. If you don’t have time for a sit down meal, there are several snack and fast food restaurants, such as Chester’s Grill, Subway and Burger King. If you’re travelling in the morning and need a pick-me-up, you can purchase a coffee at Coffee World, and if you have a sweet tooth you can find treats at the Dairy Queen and Dunkin’ Donuts.

For a little retail therapy there is more than enough to occupy avid shoppers in this airport, with convenience stores, gift shops, book retailers and outlets selling gems, pearls, and fashionable apparel. There’s also a pharmacy, a wine seller, a florist and a toyshop for anything else you might need.

Please note all information is current as of March 2016.
