Departing from Yogyakarta
Yogyakarta Airport (JOG), officially Adisutjipto International, is a small airport that uses 2 terminals for domestic and international flights, housed in separate buildings.
Passenger facilities are limited, with shopping and dining options only being found before the security checks. You should aim to arrive 1 hour before domestic flights to Bali.
A new airport is under construction in Temon that will accommodate more passengers and facilities. Flights from Yogyakarta will be relocated to this new airport when it opens, expected in 2019-20.
Arriving in Bali
Bali (Denpasar) Airport (DPS) has 2 terminals separating international and domestic flights, connected by a retail and dining area. Once you've taken care of what you need at the airport, you can check out the transport options to your hotel. The airport is close to the popular resort areas of Kuta and Legian, but you can arrange transport all over the island if you're staying somewhere else.
Taxis should be booked inside the airport to make sure you're charged the correct rate. It costs around 50,000 rupiah (AU$4) to Kuta or 70,000 rupiah (AU$6) to Legian. Many resorts further away offer shuttle transfers, which usually have a charge. You can also hire a car during your stay.
