hostel from hell

Disgusting place you should never hope to have to stay at. You should avoid this place at all costs unless you want to in the nastiest place you could imagine. Enjoy your gross hot tub water and crackheads walking around the neighborhood. Never again. Highly avoid.

HORROR !!! one of the worst experiences I have ever had.

HORROR !!! My stay at Ember Hostel was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The room temperature reached 95°F due to a lack of air conditioning, the place is old and dirty, and the manager, Nhan Trinh, was extremely rude and unprofessional. I had to leave the hotel at 10 p.m. to find other accommodation; I absolutely do not recommend this place.

Housekeeping Moved My Possessions Without Knowledge or Consent

Housekeeping moved my possessions without my permission. I added 2 extra nights to my stay super last minute due to my flight being suddenly cancelled. I checked in with the front desk at 9:45/10am the following morning, informing them of this, and was told I can keep my same bunk without any issue. I did not ask for anyone to come in and make my cot, or give anyone permission to touch my things. Housekeeping came in and put all my belongings in my bunk in a garbage bag and put them under the bunk. When I came back I was in shock and afraid someone had taken all of my things. I was never informed of this at any point in the day. I have never in a hostel experienced someone moving personal items like this, it was alarming and outraging. I asked for a full refund on these extra 2 nights of my stay. The manager admitted that housekeeping made a mistake, but said that it does not warrant a refund. Outrageous. I've stayed in hostels on 3 different continents and never experienced this. And I was given the excuse they were "super busy" even though I've seen a maximum of 10 guests maybe in the 4 nights I've been here.
The hot tub was also drained out by 9pm even though it's supposed to be operational until midnight.

My stay at the hostel was a bit of a bag of mixed experiences. I’ll start with the bad and work my way towards the good. Firstly, my experience with staff was extremely negative. I stayed for four days and at one point had a friend stopped by which we were planning on going downtown to gay pride festival together. He was not staying or hanging out at the hostel whatsoever. He came inside, I asked him if he would like a drink before we leave, so we walked down to the kitchen to get a drink and immediately walk back upstairs to leave. While walking back upstairs, one of the staff members working that day stopped us and asked if he was a guest. I informed him that he was not, he was simply my friend who was picking me up to go downtown and we walked downstairs to get something to drink. Mind you these were drinks I paid for, nor was he in the building for longer than 60 to 90 seconds. The staff member proceeded to scold me stating that individuals who are not guests were not allowed to hang out at the house. I had informed him that we simply went down there to get something to drink before leaving. He informed me that it was OK for them to be in the foyer area but not go any further. He then gave me the auction to either be kicked out for to be charged a $60 fee. As I could not afford to go stay at a $200 hotel, I was forced to be charged a $60 fee simply for my friend coming in to get a drink. Now prior to this I had never had a guest over in any capacity. Also A/C doesnt work

The place seems nice and has great reviews, but the truth is that people go to get high (In Denver, Marijuana and some Psychedelics / Magic Mushrooms are legal) and become very noisy, and then the next day the staff enforce rules, but is too late and this cycle repeats over and over. I believe the great reviews is only coming from this people.
