Nottingham is nothing like I pictured it from the Robin Hood stories! The city is large enough to have a great selection of restaurants and shopping, and is only a quick train ride from London. Definitely a great weekend trip from the city.

If you're in London for a while, I highly recommend getting out of the city and visiting the countryside, and Nottingham is a great choice. It is large enough that the train is direct from London, but there are also very cute, tiny towns surrounding it and of course, Sherwood Forest!
