Disappointed

Of recent I had chosen this place for their good services but today I was disappointed after a long journey to be told that there is no parking because the parking lot was hired out for a wedding, only to be told to go and look for parking and come back for accomodation, this is unfair and so inconveniencing. The time for breakfast is also inconsistent

Worst ever

The worst service ever tonight .
I ordered food three times and they would say “ I will call back to confirm “ no one called back .
Finally someone came to my room took my order ,after half an hour he called to tell me that the food I ordered were not menu that night and I ordered something else which never came and no one even dared to call back.

Budget Hotel that I would consider re-visiting

I decided to stay over at this hotel by accident as it was the closest to the Mash Bus services terminus to Kigali. I was on a backpacking safari to East Africa (specifically Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi) for 3 weeks in June 2018.
The rooms are exceptionally clean and spacious. I took a deluxe single bed room and I was content with it. Costs about 20-25 Us D inclusive of breakfast.
The wifi is pretty basic and is adequate for browsing and very slow streaming if at all.
The food was also nice but I found the buffet breakfast underwhelming (It comes as part of the room package).
I would say security is good as there is 24 hour concierge and security guards on watch.
The hotel is situated on the busy Rubaga street so the incessant noise from the public transport vehicles and the motor cycles would seep into the rooms especially the ones facing the road. Be sure to request for a second or third floor room and one facing away from the road to at least minimize the unavoidable noise from the road.
I found the staff very helpful and friendly especially the ones at the check in desk and the one cleaning the rooms. However, the staff at the restaurant have devised ways of scamming patrons by hiking the prices stated on the menu. Seems to be rampant as it happened on 2 occasions and on the third attempt I protested and they reduced the bill but it was still more than was stated on the menu. This is the reason why I knock off 1 star off this review. Be on the look out for this.
Would I visit again? After traversing Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Goma in DRC, this hotel ranks as one of the best budget accommodation you can enjoy backpacking in East Africa. So it an emphatic Yes. But I would skip the restaurant and eat out elsewhere.

Sumptuous Local Cuisine and friendly staff in the Heart of Kampala

Have dined at G-One Hotel on a number of occasions and was served sumptuous local dishes like plantains, chicken. Continental dishes are as well on the menu. The prices are pocket friendly including the accommodation. the restaurant opens till late. the hotel is near other tourist attractions e.g. The Gadaffi Mosque at Old Kampala, Buganda Kings Palace-Lubiri, the Royal Mile and Kabaka's Lake, Rubaga and Namirembe Churches.
