Evora is one of my favorite towns in the country, located in inner Alentejo, one hour from Lisbon. Has plenty of unique monuments such as the Capela dos ossos ( bones chapel) , Diana Temple. Lovely city surrounded by medieval walls, plenty of good restaurants and hotels! A must stop !

Évora is ranked number two in the Portuguese most livable cities survey of living conditions. Due to its well-preserved old town centre, still partially enclosed by medieval walls, and a large number of monuments dating from various historical periods, including a Roman Temple, Évora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's also located in the Alentejo province and has great food, wine, and more relaxed pace of life.

Evora is a photogenic place due to it having preserved many different layers of architecture from many traditions over the centuries. The town is full of small roads and little cafes here and there. We went there with a friend for photoshoot. To our surprise we found that there were no restaurants (just small cafes) open on that late Sunday afternoon in November. Lots of photographs were made. If we had had more time we would have also spent time on small roads as the countryside looked inviting with lonely bulls standing underneath large trees. We had city mostly to ourselves on that day.
