A beautiful often over-looked city in The Netherlands, this city provides tourist a real glimpse into the life of a local.
nice city with beautiful modern architecture but be a little bit careful of the ghetto
The Hague of Den Haag is a beautiful city with a for the Dutch special and important history. Strange is that in the Hague the Dutch Government and the Government offices are located, you will find it on your Map as: "Het Binnenhof" ( the inner court). Strange because in most countries the Government resides in the capital (the capital of Netherlands is Amsterdam). The Hague is mondain, has chic shops, promenades, palaces, theatres and a museum, the Mauritshuis Museum, with in her collection: The girl with the Pearl Earring of Vermeer and a wonderful Rembrandt in her collection. The Hague is the home of our Royalty. And every year, the 3rd Tuesday in september comes our King Willem Alexander of Orange in De Gouden Koets( the golden carriage) to "Het Binnehof" for his speech from the throne, the opening of the parliamentary year. Furthermore, the beach and promenade of Scheveningen are near to The Hague with the renowned Kuhrhaus and the Circus Musical Theatre. Do you like to gamble? On horse race track "Duindicht" close to The Hague you can get on horse racing betting.
Nice size city with a good mixture of old and new. Arrived by train at Central Station which is a 10 minute walk to the shopping area and a number of the sights. Follow signs to Centrum (left after exiting the entrance)
