Just a few hours from Dubrovnik lies this scenic country full of sandy beaches, vast canyons, tall mountains, thick pine forest. The nation has charming villages and untouched beauty. It is a nature's lover dream, and many highlights can be down in a couple of days. However, if you don’t have that kind of time, it is easy to book a one day trip straight from Montenegro.
Great place for a day trip. Make sure you do the city walls hike for the best views! For more info check out my Instagram @reasonswetravel
From Dhermi, Albania I traveled all the way back to Kotor in Montenegro in one day by bla bla car. I spent 1 night in Budva as well, but I would not like to recommend this place, as it was super touristy, absolutely no feel of culture, as everything was made for Russian tourists. Kotor, on the other hand, is just perfect and peaceful.
I have seen photos of Kotor and Montenegro since my last trip to Croatia back in 2014 and I put it on my bucket list to travel next time I am back in Croatia. It took almost 3 yrs since and I am glad I got to see Kotor on this past trip. Old City of Kotor was built between the 12th and 14th century. Kotor a UNESCO listed “World Natural and Historical Heritage Site” due to its medieval architecture and numerous monuments.
