Average apartment

The apartment is normal, it is close to the tourist resources of Athens. Finding it is an odyssey, as it only lists the name of the street, there is no information sign installed with the name of the apartments.
The bathroom is tiny, it has no dark curtain and all the light from the street comes in at night.
The street is empty when the shops close, it is not very busy with people.

Great base to explore Athens

Convenient location in the Plaka. About 200m from Monastiraki subway station at the end of the “flea market” street Ifestou. This is not really a flea market but a street with tourist shops. 2-minute walk from the entrance of the Ancient Agora. Hadrian’s library, Roman Agora and Acropolis also within walking distance.
It is an apartment building with 4 apartments in total. We stayed in the Penthouse apartment, which was great because of the huge rooftop terrace with views of the Acropolis. As there is no reception or other services, easy check in procedure by email - send registration information in advance and credit card details. Then they respond with detailed instructions how to access thr apartment with a 4-digit numerical code for the lock box where you can pick up the keys for the apartment. Good security with heavy bolted access door and fire extinguisher provided.
Small bathroom with the toilet and shower combined in one area. Bedroom with double bed. Sofa bed in living room, so the Penthouse is suitable for 3-4 persons. Good air conditioning in living room and bedroom. Very well equipped kitchen with large fridge, induction hobs and oven, dishwasher and washing machine, coffee maker and electric kettle. Kitchenware, plates, glasses, etc. available. Also iron and ironing board and hair dryer in the apartment.
The highlight of the Penthouse is of course the huge rooftop terrace, overlooking the old town and view of the Acropolis. Lounge set and dining table and some potted plants.
Definitely a great place to stay in Athens if you like privacy and space and do not need hotel facilities.

the scariest nightmare ever

the flat (deluxe) is beautiful though small and open (= one room so not for 2 couples) but on a positive note very bright full of light all day. you can see Acropolis far away. toilet / shower combination is the smallest I've ever seen with the tiniest door (half a meter) so the flat is not suitable for even slightly overweight people or pregnant women, they will not be able to use neither shower or toilette. there were only 2 coffee mugs though the flat is for 4 persons. the couch that opens is as hard as sleeping on a stone floor.
in the info there is a false claim that there would be heating in the flat since there is not one, and the a/c is not strong enough and does not provide hot air as the whole flat is one space. the temperature at the hottest of the air condition coming out was exactly the same as the air inside the flat so during winter you'll mostly be totally frozen. no microwave either though claimed so in the info. we did not complain about these two issues, even though they were lies, since personally we managed without them sleeping with 4 blankets provided by the totally wonderful cleaning ladies.
previous reviews said about running toilet making lots of noise 24/7. it is still not fixed, so the owner seems lazy. the flat is for 4 persons but only 1 set of keys were given so if you do not know who'll be the first back in the flat after outings, everybody has to pretty much come and go together. I was with a small child though so this was not a problem for me.
what became a problem though and made the stay scariest ever in any place in the world (we have travelled in 5 continents) was that there was a door on the hallway with a lock only on the inside so in case it was locked it was impossible for other guests to enter their flat. somehow one evening it had been locked from the inside even though I did not even know about that extra lock up at the door and my child wouldn't have been able to touch it.
due to this incident after I opened the hallway door to another guest, in total rage he entered my flat forcefully without permission and physically attacked me pushing me twisting my hands and the more I resisted the more he pushed himself in and grabbed me and pushed me, twisting my arms so I could not fight back, all because he could not enter the door he claimed I had locked. which was the owner's fault to create that kind of harmful lock in the first place.
no apologies nor help from the owner. no protection, no regrets, no worries, no nothing though the door not working properly was a problem created by him. not even throwing the violent guest out. only suggestions that they were more persons (he and the attacker) against me in case I would take the incident further.
the safety and the well being of the guests is the highest priority of an owner / manager. this owner failed that completely. no matter how nice that flat would be during the summer months the owner is not capable of doing his duties.

Location is the best ever

This is the amazing view from the standard rm balcony. At nite it is spectacular all lite up. With the door open street noise but it is mainly music and laughing people- no cars or buses.Lots of activity around. It is in the end part of the flea market so lots of stores. So convenient getting in and I love the key system. Room is nice size, lots of lite, large long bed with wonderful clean white sheets and coverlet. The kitchen is very small but very functional and well organized. The bathroom is the smallest I’ve seen- toilet in the shower but it is doable. Nice warm water. There are 2 sets of stairs but we were able to do it with heavy luggage. This is a perfect place.

Fantastisch!!!
