Wonderful stay during the FIFA World Cup. Budget friendly with lots of great things. Overall well maintained despite the hotel being a bit older. Location in the West End right next to the beach and Stanley park is fantastic. Tons of great restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Staff are fabulous, thank you for accommodating special requests. Rooms on the premium floor with balcony are highly recommended if you like a view of the beach. Could be noisy at night from the street below, but it’s a trade off for great location and room with a nice view. Overall highly recommended.

Lovely location

Location of hotel perfect as close to beach and Stanley park and bus stops right outside for regular service to and from Downtown
We booked with breakfast which was a mistake
Arrived August 2 at end of Pride festival which was interesting
Morning of August 3 had breakfast ‘Benny’ but only allowed one coffee or one orange juice
If we both wanted both we would have to pay extra !!
Nowhere in the world have we experienced this as we have always had as many coffees and juices as wanted
They don’t have a buffet
Decided after day 2 ( another disastrous breakfast) to eat out at Misou the local coffee outlet
Enjoyed our stay as room and bathroom were perfect
Too expensive for what you get

Good stay, bathroom light not a good set up

Good experience at sands best western staying end of August midweek. Found the parking was pretty tight until we found the upper parking, which there was plenty of. Room had a musty smell, which was cleared out shortly with air on and window open.
No fan in the bathroom. Also bathroom light is connected to a switch outside the bathroom, which is also connected to the light outside of the bathroom. Not a great set up for sleeping companions with late night bathroom visits.
Nespresso coffee machine and pharmacopia citrus body wash, shampoo, conditioner. Good shower.
Comfy beds and everything is clean. Has a great location steps away from the beach!

Parking lot is sketchy and upper level has no rely so don’t park there with all of your bags unless you want to carry them down a narrow staircase.
This hotel is getting really old but the rooms are updated and it is really close to the beach

The hotel was quite tired looking and ready for a refurbished. We stayed on a Saturday night and because of the old style windows without double glazing we found it quite noisy.
On a positive the room was a good size and the bed was comfortable.
Despite having paid for breakfast in our hotel price we chose not to stay as the breakfast was served in a sports bar with very few staff.
