 Zagreb Airport

Zagreb International Airport is a public and military airport serving as the main international airport of Croatia. Also known as Pleso Airport, it also serves as the base of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence. The airport serves the city of Zagreb, the capital and largest city of Croatia. It resides at an elevation of 353 feet or 108 metres above mean sea level, and has a concrete/asphalt runway designated 05/23, with a length of 10,669 feet or 3,252 metres. In 2014, Zagreb International Airport served approximately 2.4 million passengers and had 38,348 aircraft movements. It is a hub for Croatia Airlines, Trade Air, and Air Croatia.

Terminals

Zagreb International Airport currently has a single terminal building, Terminal 1, with a VIP terminal to its west. The ground floor of the terminal has gates 1 to 7 for domestic departures and gates 11 to 19 for international departures. Domestic and international arrivals are also handled on this floor, through their respective areas at both ends of the terminal.

A new terminal, Terminal 2, is currently under construction which started in December 2013 and is expected to be completed by mid- to late 2016. After the construction of Terminal 2, there have been plans for Terminal 1 to accommodate low-cost flights.

Services and Facilities

On the ground floor of Terminal 1 is a children’s playground, two café bars, the international departure waiting room, a duty free shop, baby care area, ATMs, car rentals, bank, and lost baggage area near the international departure and arrival hall. Near the domestic departure and arrival hall, there is also a playground, as well as the domestic departure waiting room, a newspaper stand, Internet corner, ATMs, and two café bars. On the first floor of the terminal are another car rental counter, the Diners Club International Airport Lounge, a chapel, VIP lounges, a playground, a café, the "Faust Vrančić" Restaurant, and two more business lounges.

Near the domestic arrivals and departures area is the Welcome Shop. In here, you can purchase travel products, plus daily domestic and international press. Near the Transit area of Terminal 1 is another shop, where souvenirs and luxury products can be bought.

Driving hide 

From the city centre of Zagreb, you can drive via D30, via Avenija Većeslava Holjevca and D30, or via Sajmišna cesta.

Trains hide 

Zagreb International Airport is located 10 kilometres or 6.2 miles from Zagreb Central Station in King Tomislav Square.

Buses hide 

Buses also serve the airport, going to and from different parts of the city. The main bus terminal is the Central Bus Station at Marin Drzic Avenue. The airport has Bus stops 01 and 02 in front of the terminal. Bus stop 01 is for buses heading to Zagreb, while Bus stop 02 is for buses arriving at the airport.
