There are plenty of food options if you are feeling hungry, with restaurants, cafes, kiosks, and fast food outlets serving international and local cuisine. For shopping amenities, there is a decent duty-free area, as well as bookshops, gift stores, and newsagents that you can pick any last minute items that you need before exiting the airport.

Travel Information

· Sixt, Hertz, Avis, Budget, and Hertz all operate offices out of Cairo International Airport, and you can hire a car from any one of them. Otherwise, Skyscanner has a car hire search tool that allows you to book a reservation online. The drive is fairly straightforward into central Cairo, just take the Airport Road to Kobri Al Matar, and continue on this road until you see the October Bridge ramp to Giza, take that and merge onto the 6th of October Bridge. After 7km, take the ramp to Tahrir Square, and you will come to the centre of town.

· If you’d like to take the bus, there is the 356 service that runs into the city centre, or you can book a private shuttle bus, or an airport transfer, which may be a better alternative if you are travelling with a family.

· A normal taxi into town should come to about 50-60EGP ($7-9), or around 100EGP ($15) if you opt for a larger or more luxurious model. The journey should take about 20 minutes if the traffic is light, and you can pick up a taxi just outside the terminal.
