Why visit Toowoomba?

Situated in the spectacular hinterland of Queensland state, Toowoomba, is a delightful Australian city. With its lovely gardens, a sweet town centre, and lovely heritage houses, this town is a real slice of life in Australia that seems to have disappeared elsewhere in the country. Enjoy this city by sitting down with a pint in a pub, strolling through its outdoor spaces, and getting to know its friendly locals.

Things to do in Toowoomba

Toowoomba may be small, but there’s plenty to do here. Stroll down Russell Street to take in the historical architecture of this town, and enjoy the cafes, restaurants and bars that cluster here.

Then stop by the Cobb and Co Museum, essentially a transport museum, but one where you can see horse drawn carts and carriages that used to function as the primary source of locomotion in this town. Then tour the Australian Army Flying Museum, where you can see a ton or World War 2 memorabilia, and vintage aircraft.

After you’ve paid your cultural dues, why not pack a picnic and spend the afternoon in Queens Park and its Botanical Gardens, or amble through the Newtown State Rose Garden to ignite your olfactory senses.

For those seeking a little adventure in the wilderness that surrounds Toowoomba, there’s plenty to fill your time. This region is known for its crystalline waterfalls and deep pools; go to the Cascades Pool, and the Bottlebrush Pool in Crows Nest National Park, and visit the Queen Mary Falls in the lush Gondwana Rainforest.
