Best time ever.

We had a lovely time over here and we realy enjoyed the stay on Hearthstanes Estate ❤️. We also did a Jeepsafari realy recommendant. Thanks for the lovely ride. You have a realy nice astate and the cottages are really beautiful ❤️. This is the best cottage we ever had, nice, clean, tidy everything what you need for a nice stay. Thanks Ralph and Maura for the nice time we had.

Lovely comfortable cottage

We stayed in cottage #4 and it was lovely - extremely clean and it felt very spacious and comfortable. I loved the upstairs area (bedroom) because it was so light and bright during the day, and it was a bonus to have a (downstairs) window onto a stream with dippers and wagtails. The kitchen area is fairly small but very well equipped and easy to use.
We came for hillwalking (which is great around here), but the weather wasn't entirely co-operative. It's also a good area though for castles, historic houses, tea rooms, etc.

An absolute gem in the Scottish Borders

This is an absolute gem of a holiday cottage! We stayed for 5 nights in steading 4 with our dog. The accommodation is lovely, warm, comfortable, very tastefully decorated ( the photos online don’t do it justice) and has all the facilities you need including laundry facilities and a very well equipped kitchen. There is also an EV charger on site. The owners ( Ralph and Maura) were so friendly and hospitable and made us and the furry one feel extremely welcome ( so much so the dog seemed rather sad to leave). An absolutely beautiful area with some gorgeous walks. The Estate itself is also stunning and the steading had really nice waterfall views. The cost of the stay was underpriced in our opinion. We can’t recommend Hearthstanes strongly enough!

Made the happiest memories for our family and hope to make more here in the future

Just returned from a great weekend at Hearthstanes Steading. From booking to arrival, communications with our host, Ralph, were friendly and helpful. On arrival we were made to feel instantly welcome. We were celebrating my husband’s 70th birthday and had two cottages, as a family, numbers two and four. Both were clean, comfortable, spacious and cosy. Our dogs were also made to feel very welcome by Ralph and Maura. We had some lovely walks on the estate and drives around this picturesque area. The bowling alley was unique with a selection of games to play against each other and immensely fun and entertaining. Also had a delicious Sunday lunch at the dog friendly Crown Inn at Biggar. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this wonderful place and will definitely be returning. would highly recommend.

Dream vacation

It was a simply brilliant holiday
Pure relaxation
Breathtaking landscape that leaves nothing to be desired.
Large accommodation, each bedroom with its own bathroom with toilet
We even used the private bowling alley, just great
Everything was very clean and the owners also speak German
There are lots of animals on the farm, they are beautiful to look at but there is no noise or smell from them
We will definitely visit the Steading again
