A great little find

Shoot me down if you want but I never read reviews before booking anywhere as I usually find past reviews unfounded and....again this was the case!! A great location, friendly faces at reception..and a great clean room!
●NO BED BUGS as in other reviews
●NO GRUMPY STAFF as in other reviews
●NO DEPOSIT to be paid as in other reviews
●NO MESSY ROOM like in other reviews
I can only speak as I find and this was a great find with a great price attached...I'll stay again

Central Hotel Gloucester

I have not booked this through Trip Advisor but booking.com, who have failed to reply to my complaints.
Reviews on booking,com were positive, but later I looked at Trip Advisor reviews with strong warnings about this hotel.
Not safe for lone women or families which then were removed. I was surrounded by rooms with men being sick, also under my window. I had to move twice, once to get away from noise from the road, was given a quiet room to have a male opposite me repeatedly slamming his door. I moved then round the corner where an unfortunate male in the next room kept crying out with a medical condition. I thought he had checked out. Then the door in this room kept being slammed heavily.
The lift is not working.
I recently had someone trying their key card on my door.
Comments on Trip Advisor were far more accurate than booking.com.

Absolute waste of time. So hot feels like Thailand but without the fun

This place is absolutely terrible.
Room no 308 you can’t open the windows so hot makes a suana look cold. Un bearable.
They didn’t need to put duvet on the bed as you’ll kill yourself with the heat. I’d rather be locked up and have a night in the cells.
Wasn’t even cheap. Never go back I’m going to get arrested so I can stay in h m p it’s better.

Central Gloucester

In the strictest terms this is not a hotel, no bar, no restaurant so no food available. However as room only accommodation it is very good. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. Check in was simple. but you do need phot ID for at least one guest.
In terms of location it is ideally placed for all the restaurants and attractions. We would use this accommodation again

CLOSE THE PLACE DOWN!

Can't review the actual room as the receptionist (?) refused to let me in, although I produced 6 confirmation emails, credit card details and photo ID (railcard). I did not need this response after travelling for 4 hours on trains and had to check in as I had a wedding to get to in the evening. This place should be closed down as soon as possible as it has no reason to be operating in the hotel business whatsoever.
