Great venue for an informal reunion

A long overdue reunion between four colleagues today and we enjoyed fine ale, good grub and excellent service from Lewis. It’s been ages since I’ve been there and glad I returned. It’s a really good place for a bar meal and pleasant drink.

Closed, disgusting.

They closed the hotel and didn't even send a meme or call, arrived and looked in shock for a place to stay with the children, it's not nice at night to look for accommodation.

Theft alert, scam advert and bank are dealing

SCAM!!!! AVOID !!!! DO NOT BOOK, THIS HOTEL IS CLOSED !!!!
exact same as the review underneath this, having booked (and paid) £110 four weeks in advance, I turned up 5pm 18/4, solo traveller, to find the place CLOSED AND BOARDED UP!! There is no communication in my booking dot com account.
Bank happy to class this as fraud, poss theft
Bad enough one person turning up now having nowhere to stay, imagine had I been with kids and multiple bags?
I was able to book a diff hotel (and greater cost) but AVOID THIS PLACE IT IS CLOSED yet was happy to take funds. Which, makes it FRAUD

Terrible . We arrived 9 pm to find that the Inn had been closed for the week ! No one had bothered to inform us and we had received update emails that very day

Durham is lovely, the hotel let the visit down a little.

The staff were friendly and the beds were clean. The chairs in the lounge were disgusting, I don’t know how anyone sat on them they were so stained. As for the breakfast (even though they still advertise free breakfast ) it was a bowl in the evening outside the door with 2 apples, 1 orange, 3 small cereal bars and 3 large muffins. In all fairness the price we paid was very reasonable. Refurbish the lounge, not a bad to stay as the location is brilliant.
