Excellent VFM

I have never stayed at this hostel before. I have to say it was excellent Value For Money. Staff were helpful and friendly. Fellow guests were welcoming. With easy walking distance of a train station. Also with in walking distance of city centre but in a quiet enough location.

Terrible!

We had a terrible stay at that hostel. The bathrooms and toilets were dirty, the bed uncomfortable, and there was mould in many spots. The staff was barely polite. And the check out is quite early for no reason considering the poor cleanliness of the rooms. Some people say in the reviews that you cannot expect much for a few pounds but we paid £60 per person for one night because there was a rugby match in Cardiff at that moment. This is not acceptable. We are glad we didn’t stay longer. I definitely would not recommend it!

If only zero was an option

The only positive of this experience was the check in staff who explained that breakfast was very average and how to find free parking. The hostel was dirty in both the bedrooms and facilities. It looked as if someone had spilt beer (at least that is what we hope it was!) down the bedroom walls. It felt as though people were living in the hostel and they made us feel very uncomfortable. Walls were paper thin and we woke to hear many other residents and fights in the street. The bathrooms were disgusting and luckily we were only here one night so opted not to use the bathrooms during our stay. We are used to staying in hostels and would not recommend this to other travellers.

If you have no option at all, this place is for you

This hostel has many weird people and not really comfortable to stay.
Breakfas is just bread and cerial and security is not well.
Shower is not really preferable to use and no soap and shampoo provided.
I wouldn't choose this hostel if you have any other option.

Brilliant Weekend!

I’ve stayed here a few times now and as a female it’s great but also with my boyfriend it was a great deal. I always like the way the staff treat the residents and the location is spot on. The main areas of improvement are the reception area is always overcrowded and feels awkward when you walk through. The toilets and showers are in desperate need of a deep clean and some air fresheners to brighten the place up a bit. The windows in the bedrooms are huge and make the room feel cold due to heat loss. Lastly the breakfast is so dull and boring it needs some fruit yoghurt welsh cakes or croissants and extra jams and cheeses or something to make it more interesting. I think maybe they could play some nice music in the eating area too. Other than that, if you want somewhere in Wales that’s cheap and cheerful. This is Excellent.
