The Commodore is a fabulous hotel!

The Commodore is a stunningly good hotel! The staff are amazing; nothing is too much trouble! The location is simply beautiful. If you select a room with a marine view, you will enjoy a constantly changing seascape over towards Appledore and beyond.
Facilities for the disabled and those with mobility needs are excellent, but you do need to choose your room carefully; there isn’t a lift to the 1st and 2nd floors of the hotel.
My wife and I found the food in the restaurant to be excellent. An extremely good breakfast was included in our room tariff and lunch and dinner were also available if required. Immediate access to the beautiful Tarka Trail was at the bottom of the hotel drive, so my wife and I were able to go out every day on our wheelchair bike and cycle for miles and miles on this magnificent trail! We were allowed to store our bike securely, undercover
in the main body of the hotel for which we were extremely grateful!
We will definitely be returning to the Commodore Hotel; we had a fabulous six nights…thank you so much!

Great hotel

Great Hotei.Superb position and very friendly staff. Big plus for us is no dogs allowed in the hotel. Thoroughly recommended

Relaxing stay

We enjoyed a great 3 night stay at the Commodore Hotel. In my opinion, the hotel occupies the best position on Instow Beach, allowing you to take in the fabulous views from either the terrace, the dining room, the lounge or any of the beach front rooms.
Our beach facing ensuite balcony rooms were well appointed, clean and tidy. We slept well, waking to the sound of the sea.
We opted for breakfast and dinner and thoroughly enjoyed all of our meals. The staff were very attentive, making sure that we had everything that we needed.

Old fashioned service and charm in a perfect location

The Commodore is a charming, traditional family-run British seaside hotel. The location is absolutely wonderful right on the beach at Instow, the staff are attentive, the breakfast is delicious and all the staff go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I was there on a work trip (lucky me!) but would definitely return for a holiday.

Always a treat.

It is always a treat to stay at The Commodore at Instow. It is a family run hotel and a very special place taking pride in the service it offers to its guests. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The rooms are traditional and comfortable. Some have fabulous views of the Estuary. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed dinner in the restaurant.
