Very kind managers

The managers were very kind in offering to get up in the wee hours of the morning to help carry my heavy suitcase down the stairs. Liam was up early and had a friendly conversation with me before seeing me off. Unfortunately the hostel is on a noisy street so I didn't sleep terribly well, but for a cheap place to stay it works fine. Recommend if you're in Belfast and need a place to stay in a pinch.

Disappointing

told they had lots of space arrived and a man at reception wearing not only was quite unwelcoming and unfriendly but he said hostel was FULL whch was untrue a checked all he sites and had spoken 2 manager 2 hours ago knowng I was on way said plenty of space. hostel uses long term volunteers who can barely forge a smile.

It's Cheap for Belfast. It's not bad, but expect an old building with needed improvements with cleaning. It's by no means a dirt

Ok. The staff are all great, however, this is a real hostel, not specific to tourists, so at least half the guests are migrants, workers or others. For me this was ok... however, it wouldn't be comfortable for some tourists, I guarantee. The price dictated my stay, period. Belfast is very expensive, especially on the weekends for accommodation. My room was ok, and it was well heated which was good for the winter. There were lockers and free luggage storage before and after checkout for the day. The kitchen was also large. The only negatives were the cleanliness. It was noticeably lacking. There was soap and toilet tissue, so no issues there, but it was genuinely not clean in places throughout. The microwave has literally not been cleaned in months it would seem which reflected the cleaning routine throughout. The WiFi was fine and I had no issues during my stay, but for tourists, unless on a tight budget, it might be more atmospheric elsewhere. Nevertheless, I should reiterate that the staff were nice and the price was good. The location is very good too, as it's in the university quarter close to the museum and botanical gardens.

Unsafe, unhygienic and no accountability from management

We had a very poor experience staying at this hostel. On arrival, our bed was already occupied by another person who appeared unwell, the room smelt strongly of smoke, and there was visible blood on the bed frame. We had booked a more private room specifically to feel safe, but instead we felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe.
We were told that access codes are meant to be changed daily, yet this clearly had not happened, allowing someone to occupy our bed for an extended period. Despite the seriousness of the situation, management refused any form of compensation or refund. Overall, the lack of basic hygiene, security, and customer care was unacceptable and very disappointing.

terrible.

I've already written to you directly on the hostel website but I write it here too. In short: dirty, old and in very bad condition, I prefer to sleep on the street
