Airport Residence Hotel Review
Location: Some reviews have commented the hotel is not near the airport. It is not at, or on the airport but it is very close to SAW Airport on the Asian side of Istanbul. Its maybe 5 minutes in a taxi, its not walking distance. It is NOT close to IST Airport which is the other airport in Istanbul which is on the European side of the (massive) city. If you want to be close to down-town Istanbul centre, or IST airport then this hotel is not so convenient for that. We were looking to be in the Pendik area and this hotel is perfect for that. For local transport it is easy to get taxi, Bitaksi or Uber here, there are also bus stops just outside the hotel.
Neighbourhood: Some reviews complained about the neighbourhood. It is fine. It is working class Turkish city suburbs. It is not a tourist five star beach resort. There is a shopping mall to the side of the hotel but it is not so great. There are plenty of shops and café and restaurants on the street and there are three supermarkets along the street also. Walk a little further there is a big shopping mall with clothes stores and fashion stuff etc. There are even some of the global chain operations like Costa Coffee and Burger King if you want. The restaurants on the street are cheaper and nicer though!
Reception, facilities: The hotel is a fairly basic hotel. There is no business centre, no gym, no pool. There is a front desk and the breakfast area. The reception was helpful and efficient. Good English is spoken. The guys on desk seemed friendly to me all the time I was there. The breakfast is fairly basic cold buffet with tea from a samovar and juice. There is free Wi-Fi – I stayed a week for work and found the Wi-Fi to be good for work use.
Rooms: I had an apartment suite on the fifth floor. The room was spacious and comfortable. I had one double bedroom, one bedroom with twin single beds. There was an additional single bed in the lounge/dining room area. Nice big sofa. There is a small kitchenette but no cooking equipment (nor crockery, cutlery) is provided. I borrowed some cutlery etc from breakfast so I could eat in my room from food I brought in from the local shops and takeouts. I used the fridge to store iced tea and fruit juice etc. There is a kettle to make tea and coffee – provide your own tea & coffee though. There is a shower room but not a bath. Basic bathroom sundries are provided.
The bed was comfortable, the mattress firm, the linen and towels were clean and fresh every day. There was no wear other signs of age to the linens. The room was quiet and I slept well. The room décor is basic but fresh and appropriate. Some reviews mentioned the air conditioning being a problem. I stayed one week in March 2023 and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The room was serviced daily and kept clean.
Overall: This is a value priced hotel which offers a good service and a good standard of “no-frills” accommodation. It is quiet and safe. I will stay at this hotel again in future if my personal business brings me back here.

Relaxed and clean
Just spent 3 weeks at this hotel. Very local from the airport. Nice big clean rooms with lounge area and kitchenette. Great wifi, free parking. My experience from entering the hotel to leaving was smooth and very helpful. Cleaners are amazing and a breakfast to fulfill the heartiest appetite.

Great for the price
Very near to Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW). we reached very late at night about 00.30sh. Check-In was super quick and easy. It's an apart-hotel, so we had like a lounge / kitchen, bedroom and combined toilet + shower. Fridge had complimentary water which was good. Bed had no Headboard.
We were only here for a night, I was really knackered so knocked out straight away, could here noise from other bedrooms and passage outside, didn't bother me but wife felt like someone was walking in our lounge. Reception staff very helpful evan at so late at night as we had difficulty connecting to wifi. Also called us a taxi following morning for the airport. Simple but good hotel great for the price, location and amazing service with a smile. Breakfast simple but enough to get you by all essentials were present, cant fault it for the price you pay. Plenty of restaurants/ fastfood outlets close by. SAW to Hotel Tkl20 & Hotel to SAW Tkl15.

Family trip to Istanbul
Good place to visit. Lots of sites to visit. Cappadocia the best place for Balloon and under ground caves. Izmir very good for white snow type hill of calcium. Istanbul good place to do marketing. Best place to stay in old City as all the historical places to visit are at walking distance. If you don't want to walk just use tram. By card for tram easy for communication.

To be avoided carefully!
I booked a room in this hotel with some months in advance, to spend my last night in Istanbul before flying.
The booking was confirmed but the day before they cancelled without any reason.
When I phone the receptionist was extremely rude and unpolite and simply said I had better find a different hotel.
Pls consider the risk before booking...
