Fantastic hotel with wonderful staff

The staff and entertainment team at this hotel are amazing. The holiday itself was great, food was always fresh and hot, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. From drinks being dropped off in room to cleaners gardeners and every member of staff were lovely. But our holiday was made more special by the TUI entertainment team, these guys were amazing, funny entertaining and knowledgeable anything you needed to know they were there to help. The restaurant and snack bar staff also were brilliant as well as the young lad in the sandwich corner. All in all a great stay

Super Hotel Amazing Team

My family and I 1st visited in May 2025, we loved it that much we returned again in October 2025. Upon return we booked again and we are here as I write this, although we fly home tomorrow it looks like we may return in October 2026 .
The staff here make the place so special and it is why we return. From the moment you arrive each team member cannot do enough for you.
Noura and Emna are always on hand to support and help with any information you need. The on-site nurse is also amazing and looked after my elderly father after he took a little tumble and snapped his ligament in his leg (no fault of the hotel I must add)
It is also important I mention Wahby, he made my family and I welcome from our very 1st visit. His dedication to his job as a lifeguard at the pool is superb and he is the reason we return. He supports my son who struggles when we travel but knowing Wahby will be there waiting for us makes him settled and happy to travel. If I could employ Wahby in the UK I would and his work ethic would make him a great supervisor or leader of any team.
The hotel itself is always spotless and the housekeeping team ensure rooms and communal areas are always in perfect condition.
The food is some of the best Ive had in this standard of hotel with everything cooked exceptionally well and always served with a smile. If you can't find something here to eat then you need to discuss this will the chef as they are always so accommodating to all needs.
Tipping is not something that is expected but please do tip as much and as often as you can as the employees here deserve it.
To all the team here, a big thank you ❤️

Excellent stay

Stayed for 11 nights and had a lovely experience. Got really good advices from the hotel reps on what to avoid and how to avoid scammers.
Our room was a lovely sea view family room on the first floor. The house keeper was so lovely. She even put flowers out for us one day which was a lovely surprise.
Best part was not having to wake up and save a sunbed by the pool. It didn’t matter what time you turned up, the lifeguard always had beds in store for anyone who turned up. Did I mention how clean the staff kept everywhere.
Food was good, reps were always on hand to ensure we were ok and still enjoying our stay. Also on hand in case we had any issues.
The gym was a plus to have. They even have a football pitch and organised games for kids. Tennis court for all who enjoyed that.
The message board made it easy to book any classes, childcare, even communicate with other guests. Never seen that before so that was a good one.
Overall I will recommend this hotel.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and positive review following your 11-night stay at TUI BLUE Manar.
We are delighted to know that you enjoyed your sea-view family room and appreciated the kindness and thoughtful attention of our housekeeping team. Your lovely mention of the flowers will certainly be shared with the team.
We are particularly pleased that our lifeguard team helped make your pool experience more relaxing. Our guests’ comfort and safety are very important to us, and our lifeguards are always available to assist guests with sunbeds whenever needed.
It is also wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the variety of sports and activities, including the gym, football, tennis and activities for children. We are glad that our BLUE App helped make it easier for you to organise your activities, childcare and communicate during your stay.

Average

Family rooms are good, although missing a balcony. Air con is working but weak, and doesn’t work in the bars of an evening- it is sweltering and uncomfortable to sit in.
Ali was great in the restaurant, he made our children’s meal times.
Regular closing of pools due to people pooing in them, and I doubt they are cleaned properly afterwards. We had to call a doctor out for a member of our party with an ear infection, and another member of our party was hospitalised with an ear infection, we have been advised by GPs at home this is due to unclean water.
Lots of sickness, we spoke to loads of people who had D&V. Children licking spoons, putting fingers in the chocolate fountain etc and unattended by adults.
If you sit on an actual chair rather than a step, you can’t see anything in the amphitheatre which is terrible for children watching shows.
Tui reps go around trying to make you agree to a personalised tshirt. They make it out like they are kids club T-shirts which are normally free of charge. They don’t mention a cost at all and then chase you for £20 per tshirt and are really rude if you refuse to pay, harassing you on sun beds- very poor behaviour in a tui hotel.
We had to request more pillows 5 times before actually getting them.
Food choice is good, a long wait if you want a slice of pizza though.
Kids loved the water slides.

Dear Katie,
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback following your stay at TUI BLUE Manar. We are pleased to know that you appreciated our family rooms, the variety of food and, in particular, that your children enjoyed the water slides. We also greatly appreciate your kind words about Ali and are delighted that he helped make your children’s mealtimes more enjoyable.
Regarding your comments, we would like to address the different points you raised.
Concerning the family rooms and balconies, our hotel offers different room categories and configurations, and not all room types include a balcony. We always recommend checking the specific room category selected at the time of booking. We are nevertheless pleased that you found the family room suitable for your family.
Regarding the air conditioning, we fully understand your comments, particularly given the exceptionally high temperatures we have been experiencing in Tunisia recently, which can naturally make the perceived cooling effect lower , especially in busy common areas and bars. Our air-conditioning system is operated according to the hotel’s seasonal schedule, and our teams continuously monitor its operation.
Regarding the swimming pools, we fully understand how frustrating it can be when a pool needs to be temporarily closed. Unfortunately, we have recently been facing what has become a particularly concerning trend in some resorts, namely incidents of guests contaminating swimming pools. These situations are completely beyond the hotel’s control and can have a significant impact on other guests.
Whenever such an incident occurs, the affected pool is immediately closed as a precautionary measure. It then undergoes the required cleaning, disinfection and water-quality checks before being reopened. The pool is therefore not simply reopened without the appropriate treatment and controls and these measures are essential to protect the health and safety of all our guests.
Concerning the ear infections mentioned, we are sorry that members of your party experienced these issues. Ear infections, particularly swimmer’s ear (otitis externa), are unfortunately quite common during water-based holidays. Frequent swimming and prolonged exposure to water can contribute to irritation of the ear canal and create conditions in which an infection may develop. They can occur in both children and adults and are not necessarily an indication of a problem with the swimming pool, because the affected pool is closed and undergoes the required cleaning and disinfection procedures before being reopened.
Regarding the illness you mention, we understand your concern, particularly when travelling with children. However, our hygiene and food-safety procedures are strictly monitored. We have a dedicated hygiene team carrying out daily checks, in addition to regular hygiene audits and controls, to ensure that food is properly handled, prepared and served under the required conditions.
We also appreciate your observation regarding children touching serving utensils and the chocolate fountain. Our teams regularly monitor buffet areas, but parents and accompanying adults also have an important role to play in supervising children and ensuring that hygiene rules are respected.
Regarding the amphitheatre, the seating arrangement is designed to accommodate a large number of guests and different viewing areas. We regret if your particular seating position made it difficult for your children to see the shows comfortably, and we will take your comment into consideration.
Concerning the personalised T-shirts, these are optional products . We are sorry if the information provided to you was not sufficiently clear regarding the optional nature and price of the product. We take your comments and will share them with the relevant team to ensure that guests receive clear information and never feel pressured.
Finally, regarding the pizza, our cooking stations prepare fresh food throughout the service. During busy periods, certain popular items can naturally generate a queue. We appreciate your patience and are nevertheless pleased that you found the overall food choice good and, most importantly, that your children enjoyed our water slides.
Despite the points you raised, we appreciate your detailed feedback. Your comments allow us to identify areas where we can continue improving while also clarifying the procedures and measures in place to ensure the safety, hygiene and comfort of our guests.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you and your family again in the future and provide you with an even more enjoyable experience.
Kind regards,
Walid Gharbi

Average hotel with unhygienic guests!

Unfortunately this isn’t a 5 star hotel, the grounds and setting are lovely but there are a number of factors that let it down. We’ve stayed in a number of TUI Blues & this is the poorest out of them.
Hygeine - In the week we have been here the swimming pools have been closed on a daily basis, numerous pools at numerous times of the day due to people pooing in them. This isn’t children with loose swim nappies, it’s adults and teens. TUI have even warned us on arrival that there is a social media trend called ‘logging’ where guests poo in the pool to test the response time of staff (this sounds like a joke but I can assure you it’s not). I appreciate the hotel can’t directly control this however you categorically wouldn’t get this at a proper 5 star hotel. The fact it’s occurred continually in my opinion reflects the clientele that this level hotel attracts (this sounds snobbish but I can assure you we are normal family with achievable expectations). I haven’t met a single family whilst here that intends to come back, which speaks volumes.
Sickness - Our family, along with a large number of other guests have been seriously ill during our trip. Agonising stomach cramps and sickness, a number of guests have had to see the doctor and some hospitalised for UV drips. TUI have tried saying this is due to a change of eating habits or hot weather, it’s clearly either a viral infection or down to faecal matter in the pool water. We’ve lost nearly half the holiday to being stuck in rooms sick, we are lucky enough to be well travelled across different countries and have never been ill like this before so it’s down to this resort.
Sunbeds - You have to get up before 06:30am if you want a bed around one of the pools, anytime after that you will get a bed but it will be in the undergrowth on the outskirts of the complex. Expect early mornings!
Service - The drinks service in the restaurants is nearly non existent, there’s simply not enough staff to meet demand and I feel for the ones working the floor. In the week we have been here, we have been served cold drinks TWICE at dinner. The rest of the time we have had to walk around the waiters counter and self serve cold bottles of water (you can’t self serve coke, beer or any other soft drinks, they have to be ordered if you can find a member of staff free which is honestly impossible). Outside of dinner you can queue at the bar and get a drink fairly easily which is much better.
Pools - The main pool which is the largest and busiest has non stop music blaring from 4 foot speakers all day. Dance music with a DJ speaking over the bass to hype up guests, it’s very over the top and the vibe is more of an 18-30’s holiday than a family all inclusive.
Entertainment - The vast majority of the guests here are Algerian or French, this means the entertainment is heavily steered towards French speaking guests. The entertainment itself has been average on TUI standards, I’m really surprised to see the positive reviews on the entertainment team, they focus on selling a personalised holiday t shirt to the kids for £20 each and then disappear. They are around for the evening but spend the entire night dotted around the amphitheatre loudly clapping and whistling during shows to try and create a positive atmosphere for the show, which is unfortunately underwhelming at best.
Positives:
Beach - The beach is absolutely lovely and on the doorstep, clean and tidy with Sunbeds available all day. Watersports for additional price are easily accessible too.
Lunch Snack Bar - The poolside snack bar is brilliant, fresh food cooked infront of you, meats and pizzas which were delicious. The staff here are again non stop and do a great job, we preferred the options here over any lunch or dinner served.
Water slides - The slides are great, it’s like a small water park within the hotel which got loads of use from us. You have to battle the fact others don’t quite understand the idea of a queue but barring that great.
Staff - The cleaning staff are brilliant, keep the grounds and rooms in great condition under real heat and demand.
Room - We had a family room which has its own bedroom (double bed) with its own door and then in the large living room two single beds. Perfect for a family of four.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review following your stay at TUI BLUE Manar. We are pleased to read that you appreciated several important aspects of the resort, particularly our beautiful beach, the snack bar, the water slides, the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms, and the dedication of our teams.
We would nevertheless like to address the different points raised in your review.
Regarding the swimming pools and the recent contamination incidents, we completely understand your frustration, especially as these incidents can temporarily affect the enjoyment of a family holiday. Unfortunately, we have recently been facing a concerning social media trend known as “logging”, where individuals deliberately contaminate swimming pools to test the reaction time of the teams. This behaviour is completely unacceptable and is entirely outside the hotel’s control. We have increased our vigilance and continue to work closely with our lifeguard and operational teams to respond as quickly as possible.
Whenever such an incident occurs, the affected pool is immediately closed and undergoes the required cleaning, disinfection and water-quality checks before being reopened. We cannot compromise on these procedures, even if this means temporarily limiting access to a pool. We therefore strongly disagree that these incidents reflect the standards of our hotel or the type of clientele we welcome. TUI BLUE Manar welcomes families from many different countries and backgrounds, and the behaviour of a small number of individuals should not define our guests as a whole.
Regarding the illness experienced during your stay, we are genuinely sorry to hear that members of your family were unwell and that this affected a significant part of your holiday. However, it would not be appropriate to conclude that the illnesses were caused by our food or swimming pools. During the summer period, factors such as very high temperatures, changes in climate and weather compared with guests' home countries, changes in eating habits, travel fatigue and exposure to different environments can all contribute to illnesses symptoms.
Our hygiene and food-safety procedures are continuously monitored. We have a dedicated hygiene team carrying out daily checks, in addition to regular hygiene audits and controls, to ensure that food is correctly stored, prepared, handled and served. Pool water is also regularly monitored according to the required procedures. We therefore take such concerns extremely seriously but cannot support an unverified conclusion regarding their cause.
Regarding the sunbeds, our hotel policy does not permit guests to reserve sunbeds in advance. Our lifeguard team actively monitors the pool areas and, when necessary, can provide additional sunbeds to assist guests. We are particularly pleased that you recognised the efforts of our lifeguards in helping you find a sunbed when needed.
Regarding the restaurant service, we understand that during periods of high occupancy our restaurants can become very busy and due to the particularly high temperatures we have been experiencing, many guests naturally prefer to dine indoors where it is cooler, which can make these areas busier during peak times. Our teams work continuously to serve guests as efficiently as possible, and we appreciate your recognition that the colleagues working on the floor were doing their best. We are sorry that you experienced delays with drinks service, and your comments have been shared for further attention.
Regarding the main activity pool and the music, this pool is intentionally designed as our lively activity area, with music, entertainment, sports and activities taking place throughout the day. We understand that this atmosphere may not correspond to every guest's preferred holiday style. For guests seeking greater tranquillity, we also offer other quieter areas around the resort. Our aim is precisely to provide different environments so that guests can choose the atmosphere that best suits them.
Regarding the entertainment and the international guest mix, TUI BLUE Manar welcomes guests from many different nationalities. Our entertainment programme therefore includes activities and shows designed to appeal to a diverse international audience. French-language content is naturally included when a significant part of our guests speaks French, but our entertainment team works to create an inclusive atmosphere for all nationalities.
Regarding the personalised T-shirts, these are optional products. Your comments will be shared with the relevant team to ensure that guests receive clear information.
Regarding the beach, we are delighted that you considered it one of the highlights of your stay.
Regarding the snack bar, we are particularly pleased that you enjoyed the freshly prepared food and the quality of the service. Your compliments will be shared with the team, whose efforts during busy periods are greatly appreciated.
Regarding the water slides, it is wonderful to know that your family enjoyed them. The slides are indeed one of our popular family facilities, and we are happy that they contributed positively to your holiday.
Regarding the cleaning team and your room, we sincerely appreciate your positive comments. Maintaining clean and comfortable rooms and public areas is a priority for us, particularly during periods of high occupancy and high temperatures. We will be delighted to share your recognition with our housekeeping and gardening teams.
Finally, we are pleased that despite the concerns mentioned, you still recognised the beautiful beach, excellent snack bar, water slides, clean environment and hardworking staff. We regret that some aspects of your experience affected your overall impression, but we hope this response provides some context regarding the measures and procedures in place at TUI BLUE Manar.
Thank you once again for your detailed feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and provide you with an experience that better reflects the standards and hospitality we strive to deliver.
Kind regards,
Walid Gharbi
