The Adonis hotel was really comfortable, spacious, welcoming, and in a good quieter location just 3 mins walk from main areas (and a delicious bakery). We are a family of 4 (2 teenagers) and stayed in the quad room at the very top, which was really spacious with a lovely balcony with views. Beds were comfortable and useful to split into 4 singles. Mini fridge in the room was handy. Brilliant power shower. The hotel has a lovely large garden area to use as well which is well maintained. The lady on the desk was friendly and very helpful. We brought our own mini fans to help cool us down while sleeping (stayed mid July) as there is no cooling provided, like most of the more 'affordable' hotels. Highly recommend.

A very nice clean hotel with large spacious rooms, clean and large bathrooms and a great location. The staff were very kind and helpful and the breakfast was good too.

Great and affordable hotel

Good hotel! Little dated but it’s one of the few affordable hotels in Zermatt as everything is pretty overpriced there, but the location was very good. About a 10 min walk from Zermatt train station, and an 8 minute walk to the gondola station to go to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. The single room on the 5th floor was perfect for a solo traveler. The bed was actually very comfortable. I can tell there was a nice mattress pad. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was excellent. It's only about a 15 min walk from the railway station (which also serves the Glacier Express). Zermatt is car free, so if the walk is too far there are taxi options (although I didn't use these). Zermatt is very picturesque. Unfortunately my trip to Zermatt was delayed due to issues with my flight, which meant that I arrived at the hotel much later than planned (and when reception was closed). However, I was able to inform the hotel of this issue en-route and they provided me with good details of what to do.
Room was large, spacious and had a traditional Swiss theme. It also had a balcony, complete with outdoor chairs/table and overlooked the mountains (although not the Matterhorn from my side of the hotel at least). The shower was much better than I expected from looking at it.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast.
