A modern hotel where you have a good stay
A very nice and pleasant hotel.
From the entrance, the place makes a good impression. It’s design, modern, with a bar open from 14:30 to 23:00, which is a real plus.
The team is adorable and always ready to help, especially with restaurant recommendations.
The room is nice and quite spacious, the shower is fine, and some have a bathtub. Small detail however, we found some hair in the shower, a bit unpleasant.
Note also, no tooth glass in the room, but you can easily ask for it at the bar.
The breakfast is very good, and the value for money remains consistent.
In short, a modern and friendly hotel, where you have a good stay.

A Wonderful Stay, With One Note for Housekeeping
Our stay at Walhalla Hotel in St. Gallen was fantastic, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.
The service stood out, especially from a lady at reception who had just joined the team. I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name, but she was consistently warm, always smiling, and full of great local recommendations — she made a real difference to our stay.
Breakfast offered excellent value for the price. I’m not usually a big breakfast person, but I enjoyed it, and my kids loved it too.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, easily fitting the three of us. Small touches like the automatic windows were a nice surprise, and the floors and overall finish were great. The Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom were a lovely detail too.
The one area for improvement was housekeeping. While the staff were friendly, they always seemed rushed — the floors were often left dirty, and the bathroom floor wasn’t properly cleaned. They’d make the bed and swap the towels, but the actual floor cleaning was consistently missed. This is meant purely as constructive feedback, as everything else about our stay was excellent.

Room was very nice. Clean and well maintained. Set up for a family. Really nice to have a bathroom and separate shower room. Daughter was very impressed with the toiletries available. Breakfast was busy but well stocked. Staff were helpful.

A great place to stay in central St Gallen
Three of us (one couple plus one single) stayed for four nights while we explored the area around St Gallen, primarily by train. The Walhalla's proximity to the railway station, and central bus interchange, was perfect for us. but despite being in the centre of town, the rooms were excellently soundproofed and quiet.
The hotel maintains a good balance in what it provides to business and leisure travellers. We found our room to be welcoming and comfortable. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and nothing ever seemed to run short. While there is no evening dining, there are plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance.
We thought the charges good value compared to other options both locally and in the other places in Switzerland where we stayed.
All three of us would happily stay at the Walhalla again.
