Historic hotel, and you can feel it! Stunning view of the lake. Balcony of good size. Friendly owner.

Excellent stay

We loved our stay at Hotel Splendid. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a view over the lake and mountains. The room was clean, tidy and well furnished, with a balcony we could sit out on too. Breakfast was simple but delicious. The croissants are very good, as are the scrambled eggs. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel.

A little gem in a perfect location.

We have just returned from a fantastic few days in Montreux, and we’re so glad that we found the hotel Splendid. The location of the hotel is fantastic, literally across the road from the lake front, and a few minutes walk away from the Freddie Mercury statue, the casino, the shops and the railway station.
The staff were all so friendly, and David on reception especially so. Our room had everything we needed, was comfortable and lots of nice little touches. It is lovely staying in an individual hotel, and one with some history, rather than the usual faceless big chains. Breakfast was really nice, with plenty to eat, and just a nice atmosphere with people talking to each other.
We were so lucky in having a lake facing room with its own enclosed balcony, which meant we were able to watch the sunset every night over a beautiful Lake Geneva.
Overall, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Be warned. Do not leave your purse specially if your passport is there.

The worst experienced of my solo travelling. I travel around the world and in this hotel my LV purse where my passport, ID card and debit cards got stolen. The only time I left it out of my sight was when I had breakfast when I came back to take my bags to check out didn't check again that everything will be there in my hand carry. Only realised my purse with passport and cards when I arrived in Zurich. Luckily I always have my phone in my hand. So travellers just be extra vigilant when you stay in this hotel,

Great value

Location, location, location. Superb view from the balcony. Helpful and attentive David the manager more than made up for the somewhat shabby interior. Perfect for the Jazz festival.
