We had a very good weekend stay. The location of the hotel is remote and not very close to public transport, but the views and quiet are well worth the extra steps/drive. It looks like a classic building for the area, some newer additions and renovations were done. We had a room in the older part of the building, it was well maintained and had a very nice balcony we enjoyed.
The included cold breakfast was also very good and served in a very nice and bright eating area. Staff was always available and very helpful.
I highly recommend this hotel. We'll probably return to it, if we are in the area again.

This was everything I want in an alpine hotel. I felt so well looked after. Beautiful view from the balcony, peaceful and comfortable. Clean and cosy. The lovely people running this hotel were warm and helpful gave me just the boost I needed to get up the Lukmanier pass today. Would definitely recommend.

Recreation and enjoyment? Here they find it
For the first time we allowed ourselves and our dogs 3 weeks of vacation in a row. We deliberately chose a small, quiet and somewhat remote hotel in the mountains. And here our expectations were far exceeded.
Mr. and Mrs. Venzin are warm, natural hosts and leave nothing to be desired. Equally helpful and friendly are the two employees, who obviously feel comfortable and welcome at their workplace. We got an unsolicited 3 instead of a 2 room so we have more space. The room with balcony is very comfortably furnished with views of the valley to Curaglia and the surrounding, incredible mountains. Beautiful sunrises included. The beds are excellent, we slept well from the first night. By the way, the dogs were allowed to be here for free. The rooms are cleaned perfectly every day and there is always a small surprise e.g. in the form of fresh flowers. The rooms and bathroom are from the second half of the 90s, which reinforces the mountain charm and suits all those who do not like today's modern oneness. The restaurant is decorated in a cosy style and the attached part offers incredible panoramic views. Not only does it eat well here, it also spoils the eyes.
The boss works for the service and on the front line. The breakfast buffet, which the boss prepares early in the morning, offers everything and adapts to the number of guests so that waste can be largely prevented. Everything can be reordered, no one is guaranteed to starve. The jams are made by the boss herself and the range of fruit, cereal, meat, cheese etc. is generous. The boss spoils her guests in the evening with very high-quality menus, which the boss skillfully serves up. It is worth booking half-board and being surprised night after night by the varied and very tasty 3-course menus. The half-board menus are worth much more than the asking price. The chef cooks fresh and creatively every day, much comes from her own garden and the agriculture around is taken into account wherever possible. Any requests such as vegetarian, lactose-free etc. will also be dealt with by prior notice.
If you appreciate the uncomplicated, feel comfortable in the beautiful mountain nature and like natural, sincere hosts, you will feel very comfortable and welcome in this small, fine mountain hotel. This cosy hotel is just as suitable for a short stay as it is for a longer holiday. We will gladly return here and thank Mrs. and Mr. Venzin as well as the two courteous employees warmly for everything.

It couldn't be better!
Very nice and quiet location and still close to the Lukamier Pass road.
Very pleasant and friendly atmosphere, clean and comfortably furnished rooms, great mattresses, super good food!
The hotel is well organized, the staff is courteous without being intrusive.
Moderate prices with the best service.

The Perfect Stop
I stayed at Hotel Cuntera for one night while driving through the Swiss alps. I was looking for a bed and breakfast that was comfortable, had the ability to hike, and had exceptional views. Hotel Cuntera fit all of those criteria. Staying there for a few nights or more is entirely possible, as Disentis is a 15-20 min drive.
