Great place to stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Couleur Locale. We have come back three times during our stay. Three times we stayed in another room and each room was equally pleasant, spotless clean, very nicely decorated, all with natural materials, the kitchen was equipped with everything. All the devices were new. Everything worked perfectly. We were even able to prepare meals.
Next time I would immediately choose this location again. The owner Gordon is a great and very helpful host.
What we also enjoyed was that “Coffee Mama”, where they had the best coffee in town was a few doors down. Taxi company Tourtonne was very close, and the Tulip, a supermarket where they really sell everything within walking distance. The Center is also good to walk to. If you prefer to cycle, Gordon has bikes to rent or borrow.
In short: Everything is right about this great place!

Home away from home

We stayed for a little over a week - with a three-day hiatus when we went to the forest. The studio became our home away from home. It was spotless, the bed was comfortable and there were amenities for simple induction cooking, a fridge, a water cooker for making coffee/tea, etc. We arrived early in the morning after delays and Gordon arranged a simple breakfast for us, which was great. The location is very central, with the historic city within walking distance. The street is nothing special, although there is an ice cream parlor with the city's best ice cream around the corner and a coffee shop a few houses down.
A couple of things to take into account when staying here - the water ran out one day and sometimes the wifi was spotty. These two things have more to do with the general quality of these services in Paramaribo (low water pressure from the utility company, low bandwidth), and are not Couleur Locale's fault. You will be visiting a developing country, so prepare for that.

Studio for well-being

The accommodation is very nice and well-kept down to the smallest detail. You can feel the enthusiasm and care of the owners here. The charming accommodation is a wonderful place to explore the city. We also made a trip to Brownsberg on our own from there. The quiet location and the friendly welcome with breakfast must be highlighted again. Gorden helped us a lot when we returned the rental car and was open to all questions and very helpful. We can 100% recommend the studio.
