Awesome place, Awesome Host

I stayed at Vogel’s Nest during surfing season in February. I stayed in the room with the Air Conditioner and it was awesome. The room is clean and comfortable and the breakfast is great! The location is great too, a short walk from tasty restaurants and the relaxing beach. If I come back to Midigama I will 100% stay at Vogel’s Nest.

Can't sleep

I thought its good place to us will spend our holiday. But it is not.they had some group. At that days they doing very noicey all the night.we did not sleep they . the owners did not respons our request.it too .

Midigama vogue nest

After arriving from Colombo we had organised accommodation with ocean view but to our surprise found this area quite loud. We decided to go for a walk to find a more peaceful area and accommodation. To our luck we found vogel nest! We planned to stay for 2 days but ended up staying 8 nights. Surrounded by a little rainforest, walking distance to shops and beach we found heaven.
I was traveling with my best friend and we felt super comfortable and safe with our beautiful host. Vogel nest is also home to a local family, who make you feel at home and offer amazing meals and services.
I couldn’t recommend anymore. Bedrooms are very accommodating, comfortable beds and very clean rooms. Aircon and non aircon rooms available, we choose not to and found the area quite cool.
A must, I hope you enjoy as much as we did. We can’t wait to return!

Pretty rooms in a quiet location

Tucked away down a track, just a short walk from the railway station, Vogel Nest has a quiet location, surrounded by jungle, complete with squirrels, birds and monkeys. My room was clean, white and fresh, with high ceilings and lovely dark wood four poster bed. The mosquito net was reassuringly sturdy, whilst being pretty too. I had expected to have AC as per my booking, however what I got was a ceiling fan. I soon realised this wasn't a problem, as the room was fairly shaded in the daytime. Like most properties in the area, warm water for showers is scarce, but the wet room was clean and had a good mirror with a light above it - hurrah!
Outside the rooms is a large shaded terrace with a table and chairs for chilling out of the heat or enjoying the evening breeze. The hosts didn't speak a lot of English, and we could have done with a little more explanation of how to order breakfast, or other things - but they really tried to make us feel at home. On New Years Day they made all of their guests a lovely breakfast, and were kind and polite to us. This a great value place to stay in a green and tranquil location.
