Very bad management and unsafe place to stay

Me and my wife have been at Crystal Villa at one of the two Cabanas for few days in January 2026.
Location is good, very bad management, the service very lousy and operated by casual people without any professional back ground. More that this it is a very unsafe place, all our money in banknotes have been stolen, very clean operation , hard to discover until you check your wallet. The thief did not touch anything else. The hotel don't have any security person or CCTV cameras. The gate is always open. The manager by phone told me that they have any responsibility and that I have to put my personal belongings into the safety box present into the room because anyone could jump from wall into the Cabana where the washroom and shower located in an area open top.
Despite this accident and let say stupidly, I have been again in February, this time alone, for a couple of days. I stayed at one of the 3 room at first floor, after the first night I was asked to change the room an to move to one of the Cabana for the second night. I let the staff to bring my lagguages and bag from room and Cabana trusting on them, thinking the the thief is an outsider. I couldn't believe that again my bag and wallet have been cleaned again with the same modalities. All cash money gone, this time much bigger amount. I complaint to the hotel and went to the police station this time, I strongly believe that the thief is among the staff, this makes really uncomfortable this place. I am traveling to Sri Lanka 4/5 times every year for business and as well leasure, never happen an kind of accident like this. I love Sri Lanka but Crystal Villa will not see me anymore for sure.

Random Getaway to Weligama

Happen to be there last Thursday!!! Was a nice quiet get away. Staff were friendly. Rooms recently been refurbished and pretty clean. A nice beachfront spot with a nice clean pool .
Will definitely visit this place again. Thank you for a pleasant and chilled out stay

Right on the beach! Thanks to Ronald and team. Service was amazing and it was a pleasure to meet you all.

Don't book. Terrible service, dirty rooms, poor food, long waiting time on the food 1 hour. More missing in room and bath. N

Incredibly poor service. There is no restaurant, there is a kitchen. The service does not exist. Have several times asked for napkins, salt, water, knife fork, glass etc. Cleaning unacceptable. Rooms are worn and unclean. Staff sleep more or less all the time. No communication to the guests. We have to scream for the staff every time we need them. Bestik etc is dirty.
