Unforgetable stay with the most wonderful host family!

Our stay at Shady Mango Villa was definitively the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka! The place itself is incredible, but it’s the warmth and kindness of the owners that truly stole our hearts.
We booked a room for four on the first floor, which came with a lovely balcony. Everything was spotless and charmingly decorated. It’s such a peaceful spot—you get to watch birds and monkeys roaming around—yet it's just steps away from a small road with different dining options.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious!
We also ate dinner there one night. We were glad that, at our request, they prepared dishes not too spicy for the kids, which was much appreciated. The curry was absolutely delicious!
Sunil, who works as a local guide, drove us around Sigiriya in his tuk-tuk. Thanks to him, we snapped some amazing shots around the lake and rice fields, and his stories gave us a real insight into Sri Lankan life and culture.
Leaving felt like saying goodbye to family. We feel so grateful to have experienced their hospitality and couldn't recommend Shady Mango Villa enough!

Shady Mango an Oasis with exceptional Hosts!

Shady Mango is a wonderful place to stay in Sigiriya. Sunil and Nayana are amazing hosts, and their property feels like an oasis filled with flowers, greenery, and shade trees. Sigiriya can get hot during the day, but the moment you step inside the grounds, the air feels cooler and calmer thanks to the little ecosystem they’ve created.
The rooms are new, comfortable, and well-kept, and the air conditioning works perfectly. Shady Mango is a true family-run business, and you can feel the care they put into every detail. Sunil is not only a great host but also a guide at Lion Rock, and together with Nayana, they can share local tips and help shape your stay to fit your needs. Sunil also has a TukTuk you can arrange for rides, which makes getting around very easy.
From the delicious breakfasts to the comfortable beds, everything about this place is thoughtfully done. I couldn’t recommend it more.

Spacious and clean with a warm welcome

We really enjoyed staying here. The rooms were extremely clean and spacious and this was very much appreciated after our previous hotel.
The welcome we received from the owners was genuine and warm, and they prepared us a delicious breakfast each day.
WiFi and air conditioning worked well and a good, clean mosquito net was also appreciated.
The location was easy walking distance to many restaurants.

Superb house

A very pleasant family, we feel at home, quiet in front of the rice fields, the rooms are very clean and very comfortable. The succulent dinner, the exceptional breakfast especially the morning pancakes We will come back
