Wonderful stay with a wonderful family

Sampath and his family really made our time in Sri Lanka, even though we only stayed here one night they did everything they could to help us. They picked us up from the station and had a tuk tuk on hand to take us into town whenever we needed. They even arranged a tour of Ella and then drove us down to Yala for our the next part of our trip.
The views from our room were incredible, and well worth being slightly out of main town Ella. Waking up to the sunrise over the mountain was just beautiful. The room itself was gorgeous too, it was lovely and clean. The outside net was my personal favourite part. The pressure in the shower was great, and we had plenty of hot water.
Breakfast the next morning was delicious, such a range of foods all made by the family. The hoppers were incredible.
Honestly couldn’t find any faults in our stay. Everything was fantastic, we wish we could’ve stayed for longer. But we will definitely be back again!

Memorable experience on a budget

Quirky decoration, homely, warm and friendly. Felt like a family business - very personal. Very keen to ensure that we were comfortable and our needs met. Very authentic.
Breakfasts are generous and vary slightly to keep things interesting.
Dinner offered - no doubt would have been delicious - wish we could have eaten there more. Only two nights but very memorable - really “made” our stay in Ella.
Recommended for those on a budget who want a family feel and authentic experience for their stay.
Quite high above the city so TukTuk or car required if venturing out in the evening. Amazing views - balconies in all rooms and in shared sitting areas.

Better to avoid

Hotel very far from the center of Ella and getting to the center costs a lot of money. In addition, we had a very unpleasant experience with the people at this hotel. They scammed us out of our money and blocked our contact so we couldn't make any claims. Better to avoid it!!
