Atmospheric

We were very satisfied with the enormous hospitality, friendliness and helpfulness of the hostess. Atmospheric and small-scale accommodation. Nice room. Typical Spanish breakfast, delicious, but unfortunately we were all alone in the somewhat chilly and rather unpleasant breakfast room. But we were allowed to store the bicycles there!

Home from home

As has been mentioned in numerous earlier reviews the main "feature" here is the owner Pilar. Nothing is too much trouble for her. Her rooms contain everything one could possibly need to make your stay totally comfortable. The location also could not be any better. Villena is a charming city with some very good restaurants too and excellent Wineries in its nearby countryside.

Relaxing, classy, like the town

We arrived late, no problem. Took a wrong turn coming into town, no problem. Pilar made us entirely welcome in her home which, like the town, oozes charisma while staying totally unpretentious. Pilar takes huge pride in her town and, despite the late hour, told us our options for eating and directed us to the castle and other attractions for the following day. Unfortunately our itinerary did not allow time to visit these. I hope we can put that right some day.
The Casa de los Aromas really is a hidden gem.

Highly recommended

Situated right in the heart of the historic centre of town yet still very quiet and peaceful, this small hotel offers comfortable, unpretentious, very reasonably priced accommodation in a beautifully restored old house.
Helpful staff. Clean rooms. A small selection of hot and cold drinks with "honour bar".

Great accomodation right in the heart of Villena

We visited Villena as a pre-Christmas trip around the Vinalopó and found an absolute gem of a hotel right in the heart of the old quarter. We arrived a little earlier than expected but that wasn't a problem with the owner Pilar who was most accommodating and we were able to keep in touch with her via WhatsApp if necessary throughout our stay. The room was perfect, nice and warm for a winter visit with a large comfortable bed and a roomy en-suite bathroom with shower. There is a lounge for guests on the first floor which we didn't make use of during our short stay. There is limited public parking just a few metres away but it was full when we arrived although we were able to find plenty of free parking within five minutes walk. The main sights of Villena including the stunning castle, the museum, the cathedral and the Moors and Christians Museum are just a few minutes walk from the hotel as well as some great restaurants and bars.
