Heavenly stay in rural Teruel
We spent last weekend at this fabulous country hotel in the Teruel region. The owner, Nigel, is utterly charming and made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. We met his wife, Gemma, very briefly but she was equally delightful. We rented the cottage, which is located just a couple of hundred metres from the hotel. It was stylish and extremely comfortable, and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. There were lots of thoughtful extras - lovely plump duvets, lots of pillows, top-of-the-range organic toiletries and even slippers and dressing gowns! There were heaters, but we used the very effective wood-burning stove and were warm and cosy throughout a very chilly weekend. We travelled with our 10-year-old son and dog, who were also made to feel incredibly welcome. The views over the olive groves, fields and hills were breathtaking. Truly one of the nicest and most relaxing places I've ever stayed - with lovely owners, who really go out of their way for his guests. We didn't use the hotel services (we were too disorganised to book dinner in time) but they sound fabulous (amazing food, massages and other health and beauty treatments). We did buy some of their jam, though - delicious!!!!

Disappointing
We booked this hotel for an overnight stay based on the good Tripadvisor reviews - we must have missed something. The whole place felt tired and run down - definitely not total luxury as advertised. Rooms were on the small side (tiny bathroom). Nigel, however, was accommodating and helpful and breakfast was quite good.

small,simple,quiet,wonderful food,great location hotel with lovely owners
The rooms are simple but comfortable. The beds are wonderfully super king size!
Each room has a bedroom/shower room/enclosed sitting area and large verandah. so overall a lot of space.
It was a perfect space for my daughter/husband and small baby- the baby could sleep in the enclosed sitting area.
There is so much to do all around this area and we retreated back to the hotel each day to be welcomed and looked after by Nigel and his wife. Just perfect.
The breakfasts were delicious too....
This is somewhere to go to get away from life and enjoy being in the countryside...
wifi was free but not brilliant which was a relief... go and enjoy the views and the walking/biking trails and the surrounding villages are stunning.
We all loved our stay.

Exceptional small hotel in beautiful location
Bedrooms look out over fields to mountains where you often see many magnificent griffon vultures in the air. Nice outdoor area for drinks and summer dining. Food is excellent, varied and freshly cooked. You get personal attention and information from the owner - to summarise - we had a great 5 days here.

A total delight!
Mas del Bot is the place to stay if you love peace and quiet, cosiness, excellent food, an enormous deeply comfortable bed, and service that is cheerful and attentive but at the same time discreet. If you think ecological equals spartan, think again. This is eco-luxury! The hotel is of straw bale construction which means that even on a bleak rainy afternoon, it was cosy without the need for heating. Each of the four rooms has its own small sitting room and a terrace, so privacy and relaxation are guaranteed.
The dining room is stylishly decorated in restful colours. A vegetarian dinner was prepared especially for us, and it's impossible to describe just how delicous all four courses were. We had a caramelised goat's cheese appetiser, the very best beetroot and apple soup I've ever tasted, then crisp light falafel with a tabouleh bursting with flavours of lemon, parsley and onion, accompanied by a local organic crianza. From an excellent dessert selection, I chose banana ice cream with warm chocolate sauce - divine.
One night just wasn't long enough, so we'll just have to return to sample more of Nigel and Gemma's impeccable hospitality.
