Great hotel within 30 mins of Santander ferry.

This was an amazing little hotel ideally located about 30mins drive from Santander ferry. The owner, Angelo was a great character and although he had limited English and we have very limited Spanish, we all managed very well with a mixture of each and some French thrown in! He gave us info on beaches, restaurants and bars and was so friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and comfortable with views over the river, the breakfast was very good and the hotel was only about 10mins walk from the centre of Suances with plenty of bars and restaurants.
Would definitely recommend a night here before the ferry to the UK - very Spanish but that's it's charm!

We spent a night

The surroundings, the landscape, and the tranquility are positive aspects to highlight.
As a suggestion for improvement, I point out the mattress (which was sinking) and the blanket (which had an odor that permeated the room and we had to take it to the terrace).

good deal

Sleeping one night all was great. good starting point to the airport. Staff helpful breakfast good. House very old and beautifully restored. The possibility of walking around the tourist place near the viewpoint.

Excellent base for visiting area

This a really pretty hotel with very comfortable rooms. The management and staff are extremely friendly and helpful, though no one speaks English. It is unusual to have tea and coffee making facilities in Spain, but it was provided here on request. Can recommend the pousada most highly. Parking is very limited.

basic no frills lodging

Angelo the owner is very friendly and if all you are looking for is no frills lodging, then this place is OK, but be aware that there are some downsides.
Other than a very basic breakfast, there are no facilities to get anything to drink or eat. The nearest bars, restaurants and supermarket are a good 15 minutes walk away.
Our room was small but OK, the ensuite shower room was tiny and smelled damp / stale.
There is a nice garden which might be pleasant to sit in of an evening, with a drink - if you could get one.
