Beautiful village in the Lecrin Valley

Beautiful restaurant in one of the prettiest villages in the Lecrin Valley.
The waiters are extremely friendly and the service is excellent. I recommend it.

Memorable Stay in Restabal

Fantastic accommodation and great VFM. The family who own this property own Bar Jovie and are so friendly and helpful. Jose even drove our car up to the centre of the village on the narrowest roads I’ve ever been on. Property clean and comfortable and well equipped. A great find. We loved it.

disappointing customer service

My husband and I have visited this bar many times over the last 10 years while in this area. Bar Jovi serve good tapas and the staff are always welcoming. However, on a recent visit on 31 August, we were disappointed in their response to a potentially dangerous incident. We ordered drinks and they were served with a tomato salad tapa. While eating the tapa I was alarmed to find that I bit into something very hard. I then was horrified to discover that it was a piece of broken glass in the tapa. I told the barman what had happened and he took the tapa away. He did not apologise or ask me if I was ok. Thankfully I was not injured and did not swallow the glass. But we still had to pay for the drinks - it came to around €7 - and I just felt that in this instance the customer shouldn't have been charged. It wasn't the about money, but it was simply poor customer service. Very disappointed, as we have enjoyed this bar previously but this incident has sadly changed that.

What a great place

The Lecrin Valley is beautiful. The owners of La Dispense del Valle are very welcoming. We arrived in Restabal and went to the hub being the Bar Jovi which run the accommodation and were guided down various alleys and lanes to our accommodation, clean, tidy, and a shared pool. Made very welcome in the bar, fantastic tapas. Walks out of the accommodation through Lemon and Orange groves. Trees of almond pomegranates, prickly pear - just a feast.
The hosts are outstanding -would go back just to experience the welcome again.

We've spent a lot of time here - Restabal is a beautiful place and the Palomino-Gonzalez family are one in a million.

The accommodation is fantastic and the pool great. The family also have a great bar - Bar Jovi - and the son Christian does equestrian treks with the most beautiful horses you'll meet! Granada is a lovely 20 minute drive away and the beach is not far.
