Unbeatable service

The service in the restaurant is a 10, we were served by Andrés, a very attentive professional, a quiet, very clean and pleasant place

DISAPPOINTING ATTITUDE

Our experience with the Hotel María Manuela has been deeply disappointing, not because of its facilities, but because of the absolute lack of empathy and flexibility shown by its management.
The reservation was made through a travel agency for four nights, from Thursday to Monday, when our intention was to leave on Sunday, since we had professional commitments on Monday. The agency tried to modify or cancel the last night, but it was not possible.
Understanding that the error was not the hotel's direct responsibility, on Friday morning we went to the front desk well in advance to communicate that we would vacate the rooms a day early. In this way, the hotel would have room to rent them out again. We did not necessarily demand a full refund: we even proposed a much more modest compensation, such as allowing us to use the spa for free, the cost of which was much lower than the price of the rooms already paid for.
As the receptionist informed us, our proposal was forwarded to management, which refused to offer us any refund, alternative, or commercial gesture. We were especially disappointed that, in the face of a reasonable request made politely, management did not show the slightest willingness to reach a satisfactory solution for both parties.
We do not question that the hotel could rely on the booking conditions, but customer service should not be limited to applying them in the most rigid and economically favorable way for the establishment. It also consists of listening, showing empathy, and seeking solutions when circumstances allow. In this case, the hotel kept the full amount paid and, furthermore, could make the rooms available again starting Sunday.
Therefore, I recommend that anyone thinking about booking carefully review the dates, conditions, rates, and modification or cancellation policies before confirming and paying. It is advisable to request that any special circumstance be put in writing and not to trust that the hotel will subsequently show flexibility or consideration, because our experience was precisely the opposite.
This attitude caused us to decide not to spend a single additional euro at the spa, the restaurant, or any other service at the establishment. We preferred to go out, eat out, and enjoy Asturias and the good company of our friends. Fortunately, this situation did not manage to ruin our vacation, and we have shared magnificent moments far from this unpleasant episode.
We left with the feeling that for management, immediate economic profit prevailed exclusively over customer satisfaction and loyalty. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this hotel. We prefer to spend our money at establishments where the customer feels heard, appreciated, and treated with a minimum of consideration.

Pleasant stay

We liked the hotel quite a bit; spacious room and everything clean. Breakfast with a lot of variety and good. The hotel is quite large, which meant there were a lot of people at breakfast...
The pool was fine, although access to the pool was very bad... a somewhat steep ramp that was very slippery when wet (a bit dangerous).
We also liked the SPA... although I would have liked the water a little warmer.
The location is very good, close to many interesting places, and the town has 2 or 3 quite good restaurants.

An alternative night. Aside from the sleep, everything was fine.

I travel a lot for work and my choice of hotels is always scrupulous.
The price paid for one night, that of August 14, was definitely high for the area, but we chose to stay anyway because of the location and the fact that we would be going there after a day at the Picos de Europa lakes.
The hotel is good, with a very abundant breakfast and buffet with a gluten-free corner. We were warned upon our arrival about a local festival that would be held in front of the property on the evening of August 14 and 15, with some possible inconvenience.
Everything would have been fine if not for the fact that from 10:30 PM, the start of the party, until 4:40 AM, there was music and partying as if there were no tomorrow, with disco music and singing with dancing that made it impossible to sleep at night.
As much as these are local traditions, it is unthinkable to pay such amounts to stay in a hotel like this and spend the night awake waiting for the party to end.
Personally, I believe that guests should be warned at the time of booking and not after check-in; by then it is too late and no one can imagine what awaits them.
Regards, we will not return.
