Everything at TOC Hostel was to standard! It was an incredible time there. The staff was so sweet and helpful and super friendly. The breakfast was cute and the perfect amount of everything you need to start your day. Everything was so clean. It felt like a hotel but with my five girl roommates. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling and staying in hostels, they have other locations too!!

It's a hostel. A mixed bag of comfortable bunk beds with 7 other people who turn on lights at 3am then again at 5am!

I hope everyone who scrolls past this takes a moment to read to avoids repeating my tragedy in this hotel!

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on 27 July, I booked a room through their official website while standing at the reception desk, following the instructions given directly by the front desk employee.
The payment was successfully completed, and I was able to provide clear proof that the payment had gone through. However, due to what was later acknowledged to be a problem with this hotel's reservation system, the hotel did not receive my reservation. Despite this being entirely outside of my control, the front desk refused to honour my booking. They also made no effort to assist me with either checking in or obtaining a refund, even though I repeatedly showed valid proof that my payment had been successfully processed.
During our discussion, the front desk employee behaved in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner, making constructive communication almost impossible.
Because of this, I repeatedly requested to speak with the hotel manager. Every request was refused.
Instead of attempting to resolve the situation, the employee repeatedly demanded that I leave the hotel, threatened to call the police, move my belongings without my permission, and even attempted to physically push me out of the property.
By around midnight, I was exhausted and wanted to avoid further conflict. Therefore, I made a second reservation for the same hotel through Booking.com.
The reservation was accepted by your hotel through the Booking.com system. Nevertheless, the same front desk employee still refused to allow me to check in. Yet he offered no solution regarding my accommodation or the payment I had already made.
I found this behaviour completely unreasonable and unacceptable.
Believing that the police might help resolve either my accommodation or refund issue, I asked the front desk employee to call them.
When the police arrived, they spoke only Spanish. Since the call had been made by the hotel, they appeared to rely solely on the version of events provided by your staff. They simply instructed me to leave and provided no assistance regarding my paid reservation, refund, or accommodation.
As a result, at approximately 1:00 a.m., I was forced to leave your hotel and have no place to stay in the middle of the night.
The following day, 28 July, I returned to the hotel to discuss the matter again. This time, the hotel manager was present. The manager admitted that the problem had indeed been caused by the hotel's reservation system. However, despite acknowledging this, he chose to place complete trust in the previous night's employee's account of the incident. He showed no willingness to listen patiently to my explanation of what had happened from my perspective.
Only after I repeatedly insisted was my payment finally refunded in person.
I did not receive any sincere apology, nor was any form of compensation offered for the financial loss, the hours I spent trying to resolve the issue, the stress I endured, or the humiliating way I was treated.
What an unfairly and disrespectfully treatment throughout this entire incident! I hope none of you will experience in this hotel again!

Scammed by the staff. Avoid this place!

The staff and management are completely unprofessional. There was a misunderstanding with the payment method, and they essentially scammed me taking my money without providing any services and absolutely refusing to issue a refund. Terrible customer service.

Stayed in Malaga for one night prior to onward flights. The room was clean, but lacked some basic features (curtain on bunks for privacy, lock to main bathroom door). The hostel features were not clean - bins overflowing, no clean bowls or spoons available for use. Lots of noise / sirens from the street whilst trying to sleep.
