Weekend City Break
Had a 3 night stay, staying in a private 4 bed dorm.
We took the metro from the airport. It was roughly 50 minutes with 3 changes. The location of the hostel was great for us as we wanted to walk around the city and we found it was very walkable to parks, the plaza and the main street.
Staff at reception were friendly and very helpful when checking in. The bar area downstairs had a nice vibe. There was free water, tea and coffee provided was was great. There were free walking tours daily and pub crawls organised each evening which we didn't go on but for solo travellers it's a good way to meet others. Breakfast was served from 8-10am and Dinner was provided if signed up for in advanced for a small price although we didn't have either during our stay here as we had other activities planned.
The dorm itself was basic but very clean. Each bunk has it's own locker, and the headboard has a light an plug which was handy for charging phones. Bottom bunks had a privacy curtain which was a plus. The bathroom was very small, however it was clean and the shower had good pressure. Towels and shower/hair wash were provided.
We had an early flight when leaving and staff at reception organised the taxi for us which we appreciated and made the early wake up a bit easier. Taxi was €33 to the airport and as it was 3.30am with very little traffic it was roughly 20 minutes. During the day I imagine it would take longer but it was a fixed fee to the airport.
It was good value for money for the 3 nights and would definitely stay again.

A disaster
Staff were lovely but the rooms are really cramped, run down and dirty. There was always an awful smell in the rooms. Sharing a room with people who are loud and have no manners is like torture. I moved after one night and would not recommend. Also as a solo female the area doesn’t feel safe. I moved and felt miles better walking around by myself.

lousy.
bad experience of camp school. Tiny and overcrowded rooms with 6 beds, the bathroom was dirty and smelled bad, the hot water for washing does not come under pressure while if you turn for cold water comes out well, the meals were mediocre and the staff presumptuous

Best breakfast and service in an unbeatable location
Hostel simple but far superior to other options of the same cost. Unbeatable location near the Plaza Mayor. The staff is extremely friendly and the optional breakfast is very full and very economical. They have free luggage storage.
As a minor point to improve: dinner (with free drink), although very convenient, can be scarce if there is a lot of demand, making it difficult to repeat.
In short, for its attention and services, it is a highly recommended and honest option in Madrid.

Recommended
We stayed in Madrid and stayed here. It is a hostel where you are fine we took a room of 4, every day they came to clean the bathroom 2 times, very kind reception and always present. Such a pleasant Welcoming not the ' we've never received. They also offered us drinks, then they organize tours and even dinner. They even have the pool table, there is a very pleasant and beautiful atmosphere. You can buy food and groceries and drink them under their bar. Water, coffee and tea, always free all day and night. Fantastic.
