Terrible hostel.
A terrible hostel, it has nothing to do with what they indicate over the phone or in the photos on the website.

A horror
It is located on a sixth floor and we were not advised that the elevator was under construction
The girl at the reception desk very ill-mannered tells us that she did not know him and the elevator operators saying that everyone is knowledgeable since it is a greater work
The Hostel has bad dampness mattress....

Okay.
Acceptable place. Good location. The room is clean. Not great but generally acceptable. Nice staff. Old building. It is a non-hotel hostel but perfectly compliant to spend one or several nights. Next to the atocha train station.

Not compensating, much scope for urgent improvement of this hotel
The only good thing, the location.
Very Improveable:
- The shared bathroom should be kept much cleaner, I understand the apparent lack of staff but it would be very necessary, it is dangerous that it is not cleaned as much as possible, even more when as in this case it is shared. The same would apply to rooms in general. And I think it's too few bathrooms for so many rooms.
With a medium towel it is not enough, a hand towel or two would be the right thing to do. And once there was a mat, change from the same newspaper, in shared bathroom that there is not even seems to me a disaster and a risk because the ground can get quite wet. I find the shower curtain very bad idea, very unhygienic, it would be better a screen or even nothing, as the shower is put.
- Urgent deep renovation is needed in furniture and facilities, you can not ask a hundred euros a night for example, and that the hotel has it as minimal as this. You have to offer something else or charge 40 a night at most. In the rooms lack adequate furniture and looks very deteriorated in general.
In the bathrooms there are no shower lugs, I don't think an elderly person or a person with a disability can manage without more security in that subject. If only one thing is to be reformed, please, I think that is essential.
-The community is a mess, you can't go in and the carpet is made of butts and other debris and the condition of the elevator is almost comical, the poor can do just that.
In general, there is a lot of room for improvement, too much, it does not compensate for you putting Nordic and TV to appear to be up to the standard of most modern establishments or the friendliness of the staff and neither is it your duty, the hotel should back its work being in a position, although they sure do everything they can. Things being this way I very much doubt that I will ever come back, thank you very much anyway.

Bad experience, not recommended.
It is a very old accommodation, the showers and sinks are shared, the mattresses are very thin, and they protruded from the bed base, sheets and towels are clean and correct, a very peculiar place, for a stay, but for many days it is uncomfortable,
I was managing the type of room with separate beds before going, there was no way, when I arrived at the Hostel, I had to pay a difference of €45 more to change it, it is not logical, having already made the reservation and having availability, I saw it simply a desire to collect money while being able to provide the service. Why pay 120@ for that room, it's a theft. NOT RECOMMENDABLE.
