Really okay

Nice hotel very well located 2 streets from avenue de la mer. Between Calafell and El Vendrell. Warm welcome with complimentary bottles of water on arrival. Correct and clean rooms. Renewal of towels every day which is not always the case in hotels. Excellent value for money. You can park on the street without any problem. On the avenue de la mer: pastry shops, bars, beach clubs etc.

Great

The staff are exceptional and very kind. The hotel is perfect in terms of location and quiet. The fridge in room is helpful. I love being able to squeeze my own orange juice each morning.
I will definitely return again next year for the 6th time.

Simple, clean and nice

Stayed here while attending a conference at the next door hotel. This place is clean, simple and nice. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I definitely recommend this place to business travellers.

Best among similar hotels in the area

Although the rooms are a bit old, the hotel is the best among similar hotels in the area. It is very well located, only 3 min walking from the beach; the whole hotel is extremely clean; staff is kind and helpful, and very patient with customer's requests. Breakfast buffet is ok. I have been in this hotel several times and would choose it again.

Quiet near Beach

The Hotel Platja Mar is in a quiet residential neighbor hood in Calafell, just two blocks, a 5 min walk from the busy beach and boardwalk with a lot of restaurants, bars and shopping away.
The ground floor has the Reception and the Breakfast area with nice outside garden sitting. Breakfast is served here every morning buffet style with a nice cold selection of bread, meat, cheese, fruits, cereals, yoghurt fresh juice and a coffee machine for different coffee choices.
Rooms
The rooms are in a basic, slightly dated 3* style, but clean and functional with a 4 piece Bathroom (tub and bidet), large closet, safe and fridge. The rather small flatscreen TV offers a wide variety of international satellite programs. Free wifi is available throughout the Hotel
My booked single room came with 3 single beds,- more than enough.
The hotel also offers a privat underground parking garage, but is also easily accessible by train from Barcelona Sants every half hour for the 1 hour trip @ € 4.90 ( same price ex Airport via Barcelona Sants, traveltime is 1h 20min ) walking distance from Calafell Station with light luggage is ca. 15 min
