Our car broke down on the way home from Portugal to Germany, so we ended up in Caceres in the Kubik-hotel for 9 nights til the car was repaired finally.
I was very surprised we found a dog friendly hotel for an affordable price in the middle of this very nice and beautiful town.
The owner is a very nice and engaged guy who speaks english very well. He really helped us a lot with whatever he could.
One night, me and my dog got back home to the hotel and the AC didn´t seem working properly.
I asked the owner what might be the reason and within 15 mins we got another room.
even if it is super central the rooms we had were very calm, nice and clean.
Everybody was super friendly to me and my dog.
I am super happy and grateful we ended up in the Kubik and not anywhere else.
I seriously have nothing to complain and we will definitely come back.
From me it clearly get´s 8 of 5 stars..

And.. this city is a must see..
its really beautiful with many very nice people..

DON'T GO!

We booked one night on the way to Portugal. As there was a lot of traffic we arrived around 11 at night. There was no one at reception.
After calling the customer service phone about 40 times, my partner and I ended up lying on an extra bed in the middle of the hall.
Around 2am a receptionist appeared who had gone to process (text words) and very kindly gave us our room.
We take it with relative humor but we will certainly NEVER RETURN.

Excellent location. Room was very nice and the bathroom good size. Elevator was helpful but optional. Check in was awkward with their automated entry but once in you switched to manual keys which worked fine. Very convenient to food

Fatal

The worst hotel I have ever been to. The only good thing it has is the location because the rest is fatal!!
"Suite" with views of the city...neither suite nor views of the city and on top of that it was cold in the room! The radiators turned off with no one at the reception to assist you, the worst thing!
Not recommended.

Parking was a lot further than the hotel advertised. We had to walk 15 minutes uphill. The hotel is in a private apartment house, and we had to wait for someone to open front door. Had to walk up multiple steps before reaching small elevator. The hotel clerk left at 8 pm, and when we left in the morning there was not anyone at the reception. The mattress was old, lumpy, and hard, and room was very small, almost could not open door without hitting door. The shower hose also needed repair. Because of all these problems, the room was overpriced; however, the location was fantastic, only a 5 minute walk from Plaza Mayor and Monumental City.
