Great stay!!

Perfect location for a city break. The hotel itself was fantastic, the room was spacious with a chic, stylish interior, and it was cleaned daily with great air con. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially Wilmar, who had great vibes.
The only downside was the lack of an iron — not in the room or available at reception — which would be an easy fix. Otherwise, a great stay and one I’d definitely recommend!

Dear shaunyo2025,
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed our location, stylish room, and the friendly service from our team, especially Wilmer—we'll be sure to share your kind words with him.
We also appreciate your feedback regarding the iron. We do offer irons for our guests; however, they are subject to availability, and unfortunately, they may all be in use at busy times. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
We hope to welcome you back again soon!
Best regards,

Three stars is generous -- The second room was a solid three-star hotel experience. The first room was nowhere close.

I never write reviews, but after this experience, I feel a warning is warranted. My experience at One Shot Arago was so dramatically different from one room to the next that I honestly left feeling that the quality of your stay depends heavily on which room you are given—and how willing you are to push back if something is wrong.
I booked a Standard room for my mother and me for my birthday trip to Barcelona. Before arriving, I had already experienced some frustration communicating with the hotel about my reservations, so I was admittedly a little apprehensive about the stay. Unfortunately, that concern was justified when we finally entered our first room.
After a long flight and a day of activities, we were excited to finally get settled.
Instead, we walked into a room that did not resemble the quality or appearance I had seen online. It was a terrace room, despite the fact that I had booked a lower-tier Standard room, and it felt less like a hotel room and more like a luggage closet with two twin beds placed inside. There were suitcase scuff marks ALL over the walls. The bathroom had a strong, foul odor coming from the toilet, and the water also had an unpleasant smell. The lower portions of the walls and some of the wood trim appeared swollen or water-damaged, almost as though there had been moisture or flooding at some point. There were dents and other visible signs of wear throughout the room.
I immediately began taking photos because I could not believe this was considered an acceptable room to give to a guest.
This was especially upsetting because this was a birthday trip I had planned for my mother and me. I was embarrassed for her to see the conditions we were apparently expected to live in for the next several nights. After the stress of traveling, I wasn't even angry at first—I was deeply disappointed and honestly on the verge of tears. I remember looking at the room and thinking, *How is this the room they decided was appropriate to give us?*
My mother called the front desk to explain the situation and ask if we could be moved. We were initially told that "there were no other rooms available at our room tier" and that "we would have to stay in this room for the night" before moving the following day.
That response was incredibly frustrating. We weren't asking for an upgrade. We were asking for a clean, properly maintained room that was reasonably consistent with what we had booked.
My mother called back and politely but firmly explained that we simply could not stay in a room with that odor and condition. She asked them to come upstairs and smell the room themselves and insisted that the situation be addressed immediately.
Eventually, they moved us to another room.
And this is where my experience became a complete night-and-day difference.
The second room actually looked like the hotel I had seen online. It was smaller than the first room, but it was clean, properly maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and much more consistent with the Standard room I had originally booked. There were no suitcase scuffs covering the walls, no strange odors coming from the bathroom, and none of the obvious damage and deterioration that we had encountered in the first room. We had a nice street view, and the room itself was actually quite cute and photogenic.
The difference in my mood was immediate. I remember walking into the second room and thinking, *Yes—THIS is what I expected when I booked this hotel.*
And that is ultimately what makes the first room so difficult for me to understand.
The second room proved that One Shot Arago is capable of providing exactly the type of experience I was looking for. I was never expecting a five-star hotel. I specifically chose this property because I wanted something more budget-friendly while still having an interesting, stylish aesthetic. And when we were finally placed in the appropriate room, I felt that the hotel delivered on that.
The design is attractive, the location was convenient for our time in Barcelona, and the complimentary bottled water was a thoughtful touch, particularly since breakfast was not included with our stay.
But I cannot overlook what happened when we first arrived.
A room in the condition of the first room should not be presented to a guest as an acceptable accommodation, regardless of the hotel's star rating or the category of the room. The issue was not that the room wasn't luxurious. It was that it appeared poorly maintained and, in my opinion, did not meet a reasonable standard of cleanliness and upkeep.
What also bothered me was the initial insistence that there were no other rooms available, followed by the fact that we were ultimately moved to a completely different-quality room that was still being cleaned that same afternoon. I cannot speak to why the first room was assigned to us, and I don't want to speculate about anyone's intentions. But the sequence of events certainly left me questioning the decision, given the constant reminders of our room tier.
Ironically, once we were moved, my entire perception of Barcelona—and of the hotel—changed. I went from feeling deeply disappointed and embarrassed to feeling excited about the trip again. The second room genuinely helped me reset after a very long travel day.
So, if you're considering One Shot Arago, my advice is: **look carefully at the specific room category and don't assume every room will reflect the photos you see online.** **Speak up if you are given a room that does not meet your standards, but if you are looking for good customer service One Shot Arago is not for you.**
There are clearly rooms within the property that are attractive, comfortable, and consistent with the hotel's aesthetic. But based on my experience, there can also be a significant difference in condition between rooms.
Ultimately, I am glad we spoke up because the second room gave us the experience I had hoped for. But I should not have had to fight to get a room that was clean, maintained, and reasonably representative of what I paid.
For me, that is the biggest takeaway: **the second room was a solid three-star hotel experience. The first room was nowhere close.**

Dear Alaina,
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed account of your stay. We are truly sorry that parts of your experience fell short of expectations, especially at the start of a trip you were celebrating with your mother.
Our aim is for every guest to feel comfortable from the moment they arrive, and it is disappointing to learn that this was not your initial impression. We are glad to hear the subsequent room better reflected what you had in mind and that it helped you enjoy the rest of your visit.
As a boutique hotel, some of our properties are set within protected historic buildings, which means each room can vary in layout and character. The images on our site are intended as a guide rather than an exact match for every space. For guests who wish to select a particular room position or style, we offer a paid “Choose your room” option on our website.
Regarding bed types and room categories, assignments are based on availability on arrival. If a preferred category is not available at check-in, an upgrade to a higher category can be arranged for an additional fee, subject to availability.
We appreciate your candid perspective, as it helps us uphold the experience we strive to deliver. We hope to have another opportunity to welcome you and provide a consistently comfortable stay from the outset.
Best regards,
FDM

Staff are really really helpful, provide great instructions, ordering taxis and fixing any little problems. It’s in walking distance to a lot of shops, cabs/taxis are affordable to any of the sites. It’s around the corner from Casa Batlló and a quick walk to designer and high street shopping.

Tall room ceiling, good overall location. The staff was incredibly loud in the early mornings, waking us over two hours before our alarm. This was just staff talking to each other or guests. There needs to be better sound protection from the front desk for the rooms on the same floor. I would consider going back here if the room rate was good but I would not stay on the 1st floor if possible.
