pretty nice place
We are a family of three, we like hiking and traveling by car and we would like to share our experiences from our stay in the pension Ingrid in Tatranská Štrba.
It is a pleasant, family pension, which is harmoniously connected with its very tastefully arranged natural surroundings. This connection easily evokes an atmosphere of relaxation just by staying in place.
You will find peace and relaxation there literally "on every corner" and the whole atmosphere of this place is underlined by the cleanliness of the pension rooms, their bathrooms and common areas. A wonderful place to rest after a day trip or hike. It's like coming home.
Parking is right on the land of the pension.
The guesthouse itself is perfectly situated at the northeast of Tatranská Štrba in the direction of Štrbské pleso, which is a starting point for amazing hikes in the High Tatras. Other nearby starting points are Starý Smokovec and Tatranská Lomnica; each is easily accessible by car.
And since Tatranská Štrba has a very good transport connection to the highway, we moved to the pension in a short time within one day after hike in the Western Tatras (Roháče), so that the next day we can go hiking in the High Tatras. And who would like to go hiking in the Low Tatras another day, even there it is not far from this pension (Demänovská valley, resort Jasná - Chopok about 50 km).
All for a price that is fully adequate to the services provided; we will be happy to come back here again!

Great little guest house
This place is excellent budget accommodation in Slovakia. I don't think it will be to everybody's standard, but you have to appreciate that you get what you pay for. We payed around £30 per night and the room was incredibly clean. We had fresh bedding, comfortable beds, clean towels. The room had a balcony overlooking a wooded area with deer feeding outside. The room had a big TV, hairdryer, and reliable wifi. It was always lovely and warm and the hotel was very quiet. The owners are very nice. Don't speak much English but very friendly. Breakfast was around £5 per person and plentiful. You will need a car if you stay here as it's out of town although it does have a good train link to Strbske Pleso.

Worst experience ever! Aggressive owners!
It was my worst life time experience ever. We were going for a weekend with my partner and contacted Penzion Ingrid that got stocked in the traffic and will not make it to arrive before 10pm as it was a restriction. They responded that if come after 10pm they will not let us in. We had to stay overnight in a different place for additional cost. It was only the beginning of our nightmare. In the morning next day we went to pension Ingrid to get our room. We were charged for whole weekend. Meanwhile we received an email that Ingrid canceled our reservation because we didn’t show up last night (while they said they will not let us in) and money will not be returned because these are the rules.
When we arrived at the place, lady - the owner said we have no reservation, because we didn’t show up. She was very rude and she was said “get out” when we wanted to clarify the issue. She and her husband were shouting to get out. I’ve started to make a video of them to prove their behavior and suddenly lady attacked me trying to destroy my IPhone. We called police who came very fast and was very helpful and kind. Policemen told us this lady once locked guests in the room for some reason and it was not first time they needed to go there. It happened for the first time to me. I travel really a lot...I OBVIOUSLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HORRIBLE PLACE.

Nice average place
We stayed four nights and used place as base for our tatras trips. It has got good location, close to strbske pleso. Room was good eqquiped and clean. Little bid older but with balcony.
Nice food, good breakfast and dinner. Little classic, old school but good.

A Peaceful Alternative to Staying in Strbske Pleso
Kind staff, good food, very comfortable rooms, excellent value. So much more pleasant than the bland and unfriendly places in Strbske Pleso. It's located very close to that Tatranska Lieskovska train stop. Super convenient to catch the train up to the hiking trails that start from the other mountain villages. The only drawback is that the staff speaks no English at all. If you don't speak Slovak and need any detailed info, this could be frustrating.
