Wonderful homely and very well located

Living in casa bertha is a wonderful experience . The host Simon treats you as if you are a guest in his own home . So friendly and hospitable and he is great company . The place is right in the citadel so easy to get around . This place is very homely and unique as it is above a lovely antique shop . Hope to be back soon .

Great place to stay

Ambience, room decor, facilities, location, staff exceptional. Right in the centre of the old town in a beautifully restored heritage listed house, above an antique shop. The owners couldn't be more accomodating. The old town was a delight.

Lovely

The house is offering the guests an absolutely medieval experience. It is built at least 200 years ago; the oldest attestation found is from that period, but the house is even older. The owner tried and succeeded to decorate it in the medieval way, with lots of traditional elements, but at the same time it has all the facilities needed.
There are 4 spacious different rooms, each one offering another theme. Due to the fact that the rooms were rented and we wanted to stay one more day, we stood in two rooms, but couldn't decide which room it was nicer. They both were making us feel so well.
If you want to have a souvenir, maybe something similar to those from the room (a carpet for instance) you can buy it from downstairs, from the owners' antiquity shop. 
The breakfast was abundant, the owners very attentive to the clients request, feedback. 
One of the evenings spent there, we had a very pleasant experience. The owner served us tea and chatted with us. She told us many true - and some of them unwritten - stories about Sighisoara. It was a memorable discussion, something between real, mystery, history, tradition, bravery. 
I highly recommend this place!

What a pleasure

A very pleasant stay at Casa Bertha. Rooms comfortable, breakfasts great but above all the friendliness and helpfulness of our host and hostess was unbeatable. Would gladly stay here again. La revedere!

Amaizing host and great staying experience

THE HOST - Simon and his wife are the warmest and most joyful people you've aver meet. They have welcomed us with a choice of drinks and give us a printed map and a programs for the local happenings (we were visiting Sigisoara for the Medieval Festival).
THE PLACE - Bertha House is a medieval experience on its own. Staying on this property made everything so authentic. The house has a antiquity shop at the ground floor with beautiful furniture and decoration peaces.The best part is that you can stay on that beautiful furniture, while having a drink or your breakfast.
About the breakfast, the china, glasses and the silverware were antique as well. I have drunk my tea in a beautiful English porcelain.
THE ROOM - We have staid in room nr4. Clean, comfortable, with beautiful design in medieval style with lots of thoughtful touches. The furniture is antique, which is pretty special. The bathroom is spacious and with a beautiful design, featuring a big clowfoot tub to be enjoyed. :)
