Excellent

A refurbished house that respects the traditional look, offers spacious and comfortable rooms, furnished with furniture and old decorations. All rooms have a theme: children's room, parents' room ... and are decorated according to the established theme.
The spacious courtyard is used both as a dining place, prepared for grilling or sunbathing. There was also a small cooking museum where traditional objects used in the past were displayed.
The hosts are extremely kind and prepare for guests traditional dishes from the area and from local producers.
Buffet breakfast offers you the opportunity to taste several types of cheese, several types of traditional sausages, jams and herbs of medicinal or aromatic plants.

Average, average, average

The place is 15 minutes drive from Sighisoara, in the village named Saschiz, right on the main road. So the two rooms with windows at the road are noisy (being a major route between Brasov and Tg Mures the traffic is important). It is not that traditional nor cozy or coquette, the general impression was of cheap. The host was polite. We had breakfast which was basic (butter with jam, some ham and some cheese, tomatoes, coffee and tea, supermarket stuff but the good thing tea was natural harvest from real flowers or leafs). We had also lunch and I ate better traditional saxon dish the next day in Sighisoara.
It is not like a holiday retreat, is more like a transitional place for one or two nights stay. I would recommend other saxon villages like Biertan, Alma Vii, Mălâncrav, Daneș etc - they are more traditional and away from main routes - or other accommodation in Saschiz deep in the village not on the main road (we stayed the next day in Biertan, payed with 9 euros more per night but had breakfast included and more quality)

Dear Adina,
Thank you for your review. But, I think you made a confusion as we had NO ADINA staying with us or having lunch with us ! The pension is in a 108 years old house, raised in 1909, preserving the 108 years old architecture from 1909, so it cannot be modern,or coquette as you mentioned but with traditional and austere German architecture from that time, which we did not change at all, including furniture, doors and locks. As for the breakfast,we never promised to our guests international sophisticated food with pineapple or salmon but traditional rural food which includes eggs, various types of cheese, ham, zacusca or aubergine salad, butter, various types of home made jams and honey, milk, coffee, tea ,vegetables and fruit. Having local sheppards and farmers as suppliers, we have no reasons to buy from the supermarket , where anyway, we cannot find the food we serve for breakfast. Also, please bear in mind that ALL the pensions in Saschiz are on the main road, E 60, so maybe you made a confusion! All the best ! Anca Dantes-Owner

Great place, accurate pictures, clean, friendly, cute, easy to find.

The booking and the host were both reliable.
The pictures we found on the website were accurate.
The place was clean, no dust, no stains in the bathroom.
The location was easy to find, on the main road to Sighisoara.
(The road side of the building was easy to recognize from pictures).
Plenty of room in the back yard for 5 to maybe 6 cars to park.
2 breakfasts were a third of the room price for one night, but the food seemed all local and rich (various types of cheese & meats, fresh vegetables, tea mixes some fruits, cocoa etc).
The furniture and the entire small establishment is cosy & cute.
The host was nice and reliable. They also propose various other activities (tours, sports etc)

Memorable place

We had only a one night stay here with the 2 kids but it was memorable. The host is awesome, told us everything there is to know about the suroundings and even helped us with an extra bed for the kids. Food was incredible: had an awesome gulas, soup and a "fabulous breakfast". Also enjoyed an amazing homemade raspberry juice. All in all we loved it.

We wish we had stayed longer!

We had the most amazing time in Saschiz. Anca is a fantastic host, very welcoming and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to help us plan our trip, and even drove us to local destinations since we did not have a car!
We had dinner a couple times at the pension which was fantastic, as was breakfast, though there is also a very nice pub in the village.
Saschiz is a charming village with beautiful traditional architecture, and just a step away from amazing wildflower meadows and ancient woodland, a perfect base from which to explore the area. There is the busy road outside the pension, but all the other roads in the village are really quiet, with more horses than cars. It was lovely to walk round the village in the evening and see the cows coming home from the pasture.
Anca even let us borrow bikes so we could cycle to nearby villages.
We will definitely return!
