Best quality - price ratio in Calarasi

The hotel is not technically in Calarasi, but several kilometers to the south, on the shore of Borcea cannal (Danube river), easily reachable by car.
On the outside the hotel doesn't look like a much, a late 80s or 90s two stories building which has been painted over several times.
On the inside there is a different story, with the exception of the restaurant, the reception and hotel rooms have been redone with a rustic feel to them and a conference room is also available for meetings.
Free Wi-Fi is available everywhere in the complex.
Payment by credit card is possible.
For 35 euros a night we booked a 24sm double room with a large bathroom (bathtub and bidet), sleeping area (bed, night stands, 40" flat screen Philips smart TV with free internet and Netflix) and daytime area (non extandable couch, armchairs, writing desk, coffee table, fridge, free AC), the latter two not completely separated, but appropriate for a family with a small child. The view is nothing to write home about, the balcony is unsafe for small children, the bathroom is without venting and the room required maintenance and dusting. Continental breakfast came included with the room.
The hotel has its own private beach, with a bar and music, located less than 50m away, which is cleaned every day, has extra fine sand and rentable beach beds (2 euro/day).
The restaurant is opened 16 hours everyday and the prices are good in relation to the size of the servings.
We had a pleasant stay and will surely return if we're ever in Calarasi.

Not a good place

Not a good idea to stay in this place. The hotel is not clean. The food we received at the restaurant was cold. One of the good things is that they have a nice beach near the hotel. The employees are friendly.

Don't stay here!

Horrible experience, avoid if at all possible. This hotel is dark, eerie, scary, strange, horrible food, showers over toilets etc. Don't do it!

Bad experience

I spent my baddest journey in this hotel. No hot water, no running well TV, no clean bed with bad light, nothing to do arround the hotel, bad music in the restaurant and teen prostitution

Don't try this

Please don't try this hotel.
I think it is the most terrible hotel I had ever been. It didn't even had a shower or bath tub. You were invited to take the shower on the bathroom's floor.
I've resisted only one night in this hotel and this because we did not have time to change the accommodation.
The room was like a tomb, nothing on the floor, just grindstone, there were two little beds surrounded by tree walls (like a tomb). It was also very cold.
I think it was clean, but who cares because I felt I was already dead.
Conclusion: Horrible! Don't try this!
Instead the restaurant is the best in the town and it has a Mexican chief (or so they claimed).
Final conclusion: For Calarasi I recommend Hotel Calarasi and Restaurant Albatros.
